Hhaha repped! (well I wud if I had any left) But the tricky bit comes after you get on the direct.gov website, find the link for new full time students 2012-2013, create a direct gov account, make a secret question and answer and note down ur personal number. But what exactly are you supposed to do after that? How do you know that your money is on its way...

Fill out all the form/details as quick as you can. It should be plain sailing once you've logged in, let me know if you're still struggling.

It'll under application submitted any further steps you need to take, such as providing parental evidence.

It should tell you the status once all the side bar tabs have a little green tick next to them. my final screen says.

    ******************************** *****************************
Your application for student finance has been successfully submitted.

If you were asked to provide evidence items in support of your application, please send these as soon as possible to avoid delays in processing your application.

    ******************************** *****************************

    Your Next Steps

You need to send in evidence so that Student Finance England can progress your application. To view what evidence is still required please check the evidence category. If you have sent in evidence to Student Finance England by post Student Finance England will review your evidence and update this page. If you haven't heard anything after 20 working days, please contact Student Finance England.

    ******************************** *****************************

    Your Application status

Your application is currently being processed. Come back to this screen soon to check what is happening with your application. Use the "My Account" screen to keep your address, bank details and passwords up to date.

    ******************************** *****************************

So yours should be something similer to that

It is that. I just dont understand the ''supposrt an application'' bit for parents. it says:

    Students you are supporting

The person(s) listed below have advised that you will be providing financial information in support of their student finance application. Please check that this information is correct and follow the advice shown for 'Your next steps'

    Your supported students
You are not linked to any student for academic year 2012/13.

No, not that bit. Click on your universities application, and it should take you to a page to review everything. Somewhere near the bottom it'll say further steps required.

Have you included your parents household income on the application? Or accedently said you were going to 'support yourself'. The supporting is basically a parents part of the application, if required.

At the start, did you click income assessed? Pretty sure it should say if they need your parents information (not entirely sure as I was an independent). If your still not sure by tomorrow, just ring up.

I told it to calculate the loan not based on parents income.

You have indicated that you have been living in a country of the EEA (European Economic Area) other than the UK for the three years immediately before the start of your course, and are not considered to be one of the following:

a refugee. or the family member of a refugee
the child of a Swiss national
an EEA Migrant and Frontier worker, or their family member
To apply for student finance you have to download an application form, you cannot use this online service.

The application form, and other information on student finance, can be found on the EU Students' page.
    Yeah...
