Hello, was just wondering if anybody has applied/ been interviewed for a place on the 2012 full time Art foundation course at Bourneville? (BIAD/BCU pretty sure the same thing) I applied in March and had my interview a couple of weeks ago, was accepted on the course, and from my Art result and another result I had in January I have the points I need to go there... Still, I'm travelling quite a way everyday to get their (from Tamworth) and noone I know is/has applied, just looking for people really? Quite nervous about travelling so far each day but if i'm going to get the best education out of it, then it's all for the best

Hiya, I applied for the art and design at BIAD the school of art in bourneville. I got accepted to the course aswell Hopefully should have the right amount of points to get in. But defo looking forward to the course. Bit nervous, but i guess we are all in that position.

Well done for getting in providing you get the points which I'm sure you will! When was your interview, may have seen you, mine was either 10th or 11th May. I'm so excited to go it's just frustrating I can't find out who else is potentially going to be there. Nice to meet you, and good luck with any exams etc

Umm I'm probably the worst at advice for this, I really tried not too, but I ended up bringing everything which was 3 sketchbooks and 21 A1 boards... i'd say obviously show quality over quantity, and show a wide breadth if possible. In saying that I tried to communicate which specific area of art I wanted to go through to show an experimentation but drive towards a passionate aspect of the subject...also prepare and label it like your not there when they look at it, and just try to show a passion...I asked about different award schemes etc, to show i want to go out of my way to involve myself...tell you/your friend good luck if they apply!!

awhh thankyou! yess i know its annoying, well it will be a surprise when we get ther i suppose. ermm i didnt actually have an interview, i live in dubai, so i was unable to do the interview, they just made their decision on my portfolio. which seems to be alright haha. i just had to answer some questions on the phone for like status, i got home so im happy but good luck with your exams if you havnt finished yet! nice to meet you too

Wow! Dubai?! And I was complaining how far I would have to travel? Haha, are you staying in the accommodation or with family etc? And how exciting! Looking forward to potentially meeting you in September X)

hahahaha! yeahh well im moving finally to uk forever, in about 2 weeks, ermm will be a change haah, temperatures here get to 50 degrees or more! im staying in accomodation, halls still waiting for accomodation to go through, i applied, they said i will get a confromation after my results come in. are u staying in accomodation? where have u applied?

This is the only course I applied for and since I got an unconditional offer, I'll definitely be there!

Oh awesome! Well done! Can you remember your interview date, (just incase it was the same date as mine ) look forward to meeting you in September! Do you know which area of art you want to go into yet?

My date was the 30th of may.

And I really want to become a famous art jeweller!

Ahh I think mine was the 10th or 11th... That's really cool, never met anyone interested in jewelry before! Will be really interesting to see how you develop into your passion this next year.

Do you think we'll have a summer project to do soon? I hadn't thought about it but I went to collect some work and one of my art teachers (not that it's worth any of them being there) said we would get one set?? :/

I hope so too, I'd start tomorrow if I could, I don't want to wait 2 months to start the course... I'm so excited to meet new people and be in a much more art centred environment !!

Hello! Im going to be doing the foundation too - I just got really excited because I used to live in Dubai up until 2 years ago, so it should be really great having someone from home!!
