Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.I'm sure it was Menu Driven. You had a specific number of options you could choose from therefore it was menu driven.(Original post by FaizanKauser)
The first one was CLI and the second one was GUI..
I said CLI is good for the staff because it doesnt enable much computer power and some other crap about its use.. and GUI well i just talked about windows, icons, menus and pointers. -
Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.I wrote menu driven and graphical user(Original post by rr234)
someone please tell me what they got for that salon question, i wrote command line and for the second one i wrote menu based -
Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.It was elements of a network i believe so communication devices, networking software, data transfer media and network standards and procedures.(Original post by Zoe0288)
Did anyone include peer-to-peer network on one of the question about how to set up a network or something? for the 1st question, i included components of an ICT system thinking it was part of ICT! Doooooooh -
Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.I talked about Hubs, routers, fibre optic cables and network managers. Would that be correct?(Original post by JongKey)
It was elements of a network i believe so communication devices, networking software, data transfer media and network standards and procedures. -
Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.Yeah the hubs, routers would be fine as they're communication devices but i think you had to say each element and why they would be needed or something. Did you say why each was needed?(Original post by JOftw)
I talked about Hubs, routers, fibre optic cables and network managers. Would that be correct?
I don't think you need them, in the mark scheme they allow for a general explanation like so the two computers can communicate with each other etc and you can give an example like pdf or usb. De facto and de jure is correct but i read the examiner's report where he said something like they wouldn't explain it well enough as people went too general. Either way they're both correct(Original post by college122)
I put menu driven for first part and GUI for second
Completely forgot about de facto and de Jure until I got out of exam, they didn't even occur to me argghhhh aha

Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.I have a text book "Essential ICT for AQA". On page 82 (for the people who have it) there is an example of a menu driven interface and it is EXACTLY like the one in our exam but with different wording so the interface was definitely menu driven.(Original post by Erykwidday)
So was it CLI or Menu driven? I wrote about CLI and then looked at it again and thought that it might be menu but I didint have enough time to change it. -
Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.
That's one heck of a bad question.. Bad trick question.. Could be either CLI or MDI.. Best not to worry about it .. As long as you justified why it's good in that long question which followed.. Then you should be alright.. Hopefullyy

Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.i wrote about how bulk transactions can be linked to stock control systems(Original post by 10479a)
What did everyone put for the transaction question? and the standardization question!?
transaction processing can be used when editing shopping cart and updating number of products
Interactive - i talked about how the customer needs to confirm checkout in order to process the order online
Also mentioned another interactive when they have to select the street address in drop down box when postcode is entered -
Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.
For the network question I put down network switch instead of a hub then explained why that would be better to use than a hub, would I get credit for saying that or should I have said hub instead? I also put down firewalls to secure the network as I was running out of ideas
since the next question was about threats to the network I don't think I would get credit for that would I?

Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.Talked about the 3 legislations, misuse, data and patents and in those paragraphs I kind of embedded things about what ICT provides to allow the crimes to be carried out in other ways, talked about how ICT provides improved search facilities and improved accessibility to information as the question asked to discuss the statement with reference to the legislations(Original post by JOftw)
What did everyone write about the last question on legislation? -
Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.I mentioned batch processing as buying your items in the basket at the checkout on Amazon where they calculate the item costs and offers etc(Original post by thairshan)

In transaction processing I talked about online cinema booking and all
In interactive processing I mentioned how online shopping websites allow users to interact with the website and it instantly updates stock levels when they purchase stuff etc
I tried to stay within the topic of e-commerce, you think my answers were along the right lines? -
Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.Exactly what I did. So that should be full marks if we talked enough about it!(Original post by JongKey)
It was elements of a network i believe so communication devices, networking software, data transfer media and network standards and procedures.
Yeah I put CLI. Was debating about it in hte exam but went with CLI and I now realise it was menu-driven(Original post by JongKey)

. But my teacher said they would accept either as it was weird; similar thing happened in INFO1 this Jan and they accepted 2 answers as it was a little weird! Also, it is only 1 mark and the next question yiu get ECF (error carried forward) so they mark on whatever you chose in the first question.
What did you get in INFO1? -
Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.It was all about ommunication devices, networking software, data transfer media and network standards and procedures. So I believe hub was a communication device but I am sure switch also is so that should be fine. I put hub personally!(Original post by Amz1217)

Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.Ah, I see, I also mentioned wireless routers etc, was that question 6 marks? I hope it is since I think I should get 4 marks from it, 3 marks at minimum(Original post by GreenLantern1)

Re: AQA ICT "INFO2" "Unit 2" Living in the Digital World - 29th May.I am pretty sure it was a 10 marker question. Might have been 8 but wasn't any less than that.(Original post by Amz1217)
