Would you put "Pooled by Cambridge" or "got into UCL as insurance" on your CV?
So... I got pooled for cambridge for medicine (then rejected) and got a biomedical science offer at UCL.
Just wondering if you think its worth putting on your CV, or if this is the done thing?
EDIT: Sorry didn't make it clear, doing med at KCL, UCL biomed was insurance.Last edited by Dislocator; 30-05-2012 at 10:33. -
Re: Would you put "Pooled by Cambridge" or "got into UCL as insurance" on your CV?
You're doing medicine. They're not too fussed where your degree is actually from, never mind where you got pooled at or rejected from.
It would also run the risk of looking like you had a truly spectacular chip on your shoulder. I'm not saying you do, but it could look like you're hung up on something that happened when you were 17 whilst applying for jobs you'll be doing at the age of 23/24.
EDIT: Sorry if you're not doing medicine, though the thing about looking hung up on it would still apply.Last edited by roh; 29-05-2012 at 21:01. -
Re: Would you put "Pooled by Cambridge" or "got into UCL as insurance" on your CV?I got pooled for Med for Cambridge and then rejected - twice. Its a aspect of life I would rather bury in the deepest, darkest corner of my mind, let alone put it on a CV...(Original post by Dislocator)

Re: Would you put "Pooled by Cambridge" or "got into UCL as insurance" on your CV?Is he? Looks like he's doing Med at KCL here: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show...995&highlight=(Original post by TurboCretin)

Anyway, in that case don't flag up the fact you missed the grades elsewhere by putting that UCL was his insurance! -
