I agree though. The purpose of a CV isn't to advertise failures.
He doesn't mention how his other 3 med school applications turned out though. Medics only get 4 med schools to go at (I know the ins and outs better than I want to having a girlfriend who's a medic ). So having been rejected from Cambridge he'd sill be in the hunt at 3 other med schools. Equivalent would be if we had only 4 law UCAS spaces and then had to use the 5th for another subject we liked such as politics, history etc.

Either way, as you say, it's not a good idea.

Yea go for it. Personally I put down all my near misses on my CV.

    Degree - 2:1 (Could have got a 1st, didn't though, unlucky)
Work Experience - Morrisons (Almost got an offer from Tesco, insufficient references)
Additional Info - Bronze medal at year 10 sports day (9 seconds off gold, twisted my ankle)

So you can label yourself as a Cambridge reject on your CV? UCL is a great uni in itself!

I think the OP is so besotted with the 'Oxbridge kudos' that they're desperate to glean any advantage they can from the institution

It's such a great idea that I'm going to do it too! 'Failed horrendously in Cambridge law interview and essay', I'm sure my prospective employers would love to hear that.

He's actually doing Biomed Science at UCL, not medicine.
Sorry didn't make it clear, doing med at KCL, UCL biomed was insurance lol.

You don't put down that you're going to university on your CV. You take the job leaving them thinking you'll stay then you land them in it come september.

Neither has anything to do on a CV. You won't add all the interviews and offers for reputable jobs on it later either, will you?

Just put 'Got into UCL'. There's no need to put 'as insurance'. At the end of the day, once you're at university or have a degree from UCL no-one's going to give a damn who you may or may not have applied for/gotten into.
