Re: Would you put "Pooled by Cambridge" or "got into UCL as insurance" on your CV?He doesn't mention how his other 3 med school applications turned out though. Medics only get 4 med schools to go at (I know the ins and outs better than I want to having a girlfriend who's a medic(Original post by TurboCretin)
I agree though. The purpose of a CV isn't to advertise failures.
). So having been rejected from Cambridge he'd sill be in the hunt at 3 other med schools. Equivalent would be if we had only 4 law UCAS spaces and then had to use the 5th for another subject we liked such as politics, history etc.
Either way, as you say, it's not a good idea.Last edited by roh; 29-05-2012 at 21:23. -

Yea go for it. Personally I put down all my near misses on my CV.
Degree - 2:1 (Could have got a 1st, didn't though, unlucky)
Work Experience - Morrisons (Almost got an offer from Tesco, insufficient references)
Additional Info - Bronze medal at year 10 sports day (9 seconds off gold, twisted my ankle) -
Re: Would you put "Pooled by Cambridge" or "got into UCL as insurance" on your CV?Sorry didn't make it clear, doing med at KCL, UCL biomed was insurance lol.(Original post by TurboCretin)
He's actually doing Biomed Science at UCL, not medicine.Last edited by Dislocator; 30-05-2012 at 10:38. -
Re: Would you put "Pooled by Cambridge" or "got into UCL as insurance" on your CV?
Just put 'Got into UCL'. There's no need to put 'as insurance'. At the end of the day, once you're at university or have a degree from UCL no-one's going to give a damn who you may or may not have applied for/gotten into.
