How to remove split ends without a trim?
Hey everyone! I currently have a considerable amount of split ends due to constant straightening my hair everyday and washing my hair everyday! I'm trying to grow my hair and recently discovered your hair doesn't grow with split ends present. As I'm trying to grow my hair, I am looking for a successful method for removing split ends without the need for a trim!!
Thanks in advance!

It still grows lol, just not as nicely. I've heard a method of getting a section of your hair, twirling it tight then snipping off all the stray shorter hairs that poke out of the twirl. Or try serum to smooth it a bit. It'll look a lot nicer though if you trim them off.

Thanks everyone, the twirling idea sounds excellent! I will try it tomorrow afterschool!!!
I don't want a trim because I'm afraid of ending up with a scissor happy hairdresser which would result in my hair being short after 2 years or growth!
I will defo try the twirling idea

Re: How to remove split ends without a trim?Do they really work?(Original post by Bibs_x)
You could use shampoo that "repairs" the split ends? (makes them appear repaired) like the new Pantene.

It's really bad for your hair to wash and straighten it every day! Try to cut down to every other day.
If it's because your hair gets greasy quickly, you will actually find that once you start to wash it less, it doesn't get greasy as quickly. You can also resort to dry shampoo. Try switching shampoos and conditioner, and use less product on your hair. It makes a big difference. In this case a strengthening and protective conditioner could be a good choice.
As for the ends, trimming it is the best way. A hairdresser will be able to do it properly, and I'm sure if you are very specific that you only want an inch off the length they won't ruin your hair. You are more likely to do damage to it by doing it yourself.
If you do decide to do it yourself, do make sure you use a sharp pair of scissors, because a blunt pair can just damage the hair further. -

No, they just 'seal' the split end together. You can't 'repair' split ends. -

Get a trim! Your hair won't grow properly otherwise, cutting them off yourself will take ages and you wont be able to see the back of your hair as well as the hairdresser can.
On the other hand, try getting the hair serums and repair shampoo's. My hairdresser has reccommended Pantene split end repair.
I do it all the time
