Really want to do medicine but failed twice!!Advice please :( :(
    Hey Guys,
I am an undergraduate international student doing the final year of medical engineering.I started doing this degree after got rejected from all of the uni's for medicine application.I applied this year and got rejected again, got 2.2 in my first 2 years and this year I don't think I did my exams very well so I am not sure whether I will be able to get a 2.1.I really want to do medicine,I understand that it is difficult to get in to a medical school with a 2.2 and being an international applicant.
This year planning to do Msc while waiting.I even had some thoughts about doing medicine in some other countries but just want to try this year again as I wish to do medicine in Uk,incase if i am not lucky to do here(IF I am rejected again ) planning to try in an another country..Not sure How much it is possible to enter at least next year and not sure whether my decision is correct. Please guys all of your opinions are really valuable.please leave your opinions.

    Thank you very much

go for it, if it's what you really want to do. You may be happier to leave uni after graduation and get a good job (which your degree will entitle you to). If not, do medicine. We had a family friend who got rejected, did geology and then did medicine. Now one of the leading child plastic reconstructive surgeon in Australia.

Hmm...I am not very aware of medical school processes. Obviously it is very competitive. I think getting a 2:1 opens a lot of doors. If you only manage a 2:2 but are close to a 2:1, maybe ask for a note from your university stating that you were very close to a certain classificaiton. Also, is medical engineering classed as scientific enough for certain medical programmes ? I guess that its not. A lot will of course depend on work experience, what you want from a medical career. Most importantly why would you be a good doctor? Also your ukcat/bmat score. there are excellent resources for the ukcat- 600 questions espec.

Just not sure whether i should start in some other country this year itself without doing msc as the possibility of succeeding in the next year's application with a 2.2 is difficult,i can only apply for few uni's or should i give another try here(in uk!) as that is my wish and my family's.If i have enough chance here then want to try one more time here.

Yh but if i get a 2.2 then i can only apply to few uni's and as far as i know they don't ask for Ukcat or Bmat, some ask for Gmat

I have checked some countries and i am pretty sure if i apply,I will be able to get in to one of it.but if i have a chance here then I will be lucky to do here and also will be near to my family as they are planning to move to Uk soon,If I go to some other country i have to be alone till i finish my degree

But i am ready to do somewhere else if I was sure that it is really really hard to succeed in my next application with a 2.2
    Thanks

Hmm :/ apply for uni's here and abroad? Although if you want to be near your family then hopefully fate will allow you an offer in the UK.

Hi! Definitely go for it, fingers crossed

...or perhaps if it doesn't work out, you could try a different course, still related to medicine?

I meant a different course to the one youre doing now (like nursing? still similar...although yes, its different, I know I know...)...but if you want to do medicine, yea, if youre determined...

Hello! I'm currently in this university called International Medical University (IMU) in Malaysia which does twinning programmes with medical schools in the UK and Australia.
Essentially, your pre-clinical years are done in 2.5 years in IMU, and your clinical years will be spent in either UK/Australia, depending on which medical school you are matched to.
There is a huge international community here with people from all over, the UK, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, India etc. There are a number of graduate students here as well.

I think it's worth considering. The degree you get will be awarded by the UK/Australian university.
For more info, please go to www.imu.edu.my
