    Buying a student discount card
    Hi people,
I'm in 6th form and trying to get some student ID. My school doesn't issue any type of college card and I can't get an NUS card as my school's not registered (I have asked about this but nothing's happened )

My friend has an ISIC card though which cost £9 and when I went shopping with her recently it seemed to be accepted in most places and saved lots of money. I'm trying to buy one for myself but I'm a bit confused about the length of validity, could anyone help me out please?

It took me ages to find the UK website which was annoying to begin with, but yeah the terms of use aren't clear either. It says it's valid for 16 months from September 1st, and will expire December 2012.
Is this still true if I buy it now, or will it adjust the dates n relation to the date of purpose?

I'd be really grateful if anyone could advise me on this!

Sorry, this post is needlessly long.
To sum up how long will I be able to use the ISIC card for if I purchase it now?

    Thanks!

Back in the day (as in, last academic year), there used to be an form on the website that you printed out and took to your sixth form to be rubber stamped, if it wasn't on the list. Are you sure that doesn't still happen?

Just looking at the NUS website again, and it says that even if I buy the card now it will only be valid until the end of August, not sure if it's worth it at £11 or if it would be better to get the ISIC anyway as that's £9 and possibly lasts longer?
