PLEASE HELP - Student finance question
I'm really confused and at my wits end here, so I really need help guys. So here goes some silly questions
Okay so I know if you take out a loan they pay directly to your univeristy and you re-pay the fees only when you start earning above £21,000, but for those that don't....
If you choose not to take a student loan to cover your tution fees for the first year, would you have to pay the total upfront amount required BEFORE the start / during the course? And if that is the case, do you have to pay it in a lump sum, or does it work through paying through instalments?
2. Say for instance, I was to pay for the first year ONLY would that mean I cannot take out a loan to cover the rest of the years spent at university? . So basically, I would only be paying for the first year and the other two years taking out a loan to cover the cost. If I pay for the first year, do I have to continue paying for the other years independently myself?
3. The tution fees are £9,000 but it says on the website, the maximum i'm entitled to take out is £6,000. I'm thinking this is probably a glitch, or a system error of some sort. So I will call to clarify that anyways. But would I have to contact the university or student finance in regards to that problem
I know they may sound like dum questions. But I just need some clarification on it, because everyone is telling me different things.
Thank you in advance, any help would be GREATLY appreciated -
Re: PLEASE HELP - Student finance question
1. University policy will differ, some may offer you to pay in installments through the year - you would need to contact them.
2. You will be able to take out student finance for year 2 onwards if you chose to finance year 1 yourself.
3. If you are entitled to tuition fee loan then it will cover the whole of the tuition fees.
