    IOC Preparation?
Hi all, I have my IOC within the next couple of weeks, and I was wandering how you found the best way to prepare for it?

    Thanks

    Re: IOC Preparation?
HEY!! i finished mine last week. it went rather well, only because i practiced everyday for two weeks. my teach gave it a 6. i was in ecstasy! so here are my tips: read the rhetorical analysis packet EVERY night. http://www.auburnschools.org/ahs/mps...r%20Packet.pdf
this is the same packet my teach gave us(the class) and you cant imagine how beneficial it was. it really is amazing. even if it says AP blah.. and when i say read, i MEAN read. NO skimming!!
do an ioc every night and record it. listen to it afterwards and grade it yourself according to the IB rubric. give yourself feedback. what should you strengthen? is it detailed enough? are your examples relevant to the text?? and all of that shizzle... send a recording to your teach and let her/him listen to it and grade it according to IB criteria. let them give you feedback. is your intro strong enough? and all that shizz. another thing that IS A MUST is everything you say it would be in your best interest if you relate it back to the main point/theme. and give examples from the text itself and explain why it is important and again relate it back to the theme. even the literary features; give examples and relate it back to your main point. umm what else... OH and let your friends hear it. let them give you some feedback
and i can emphasize enough on how much you haaaaaaave to read that rhetorical analysis packet.
good luck and if you someone to listen to it and cant find someone to hear it. hit me up and send the text with it. ill finish my exams on tues so ill be able free by then. ohh and one last tip. write your intro in your 20 min of prepping. and time yourself and take it very seriously and you'll succeed.
sorry for the rant :P but hit me up if you got any q's
