Exeter academic/social life
Hello, I'm an international student and I'm either attending Exeter or going to the States this fall. I've never visited the campus or even been to Exeter, and I don't know anyone who's gone there. So I'm having a hard time deciding if I should go there even though it seems very nice. Can someone who's gone there give me some insight into the uni? Academic, social life and basically if they would recommend an international student to go there? I went to an American international high school so I'm not sure if it's a place I'll like/fit in. And by the way, I'm a business major. Thank you!

Re: Exeter academic/social life
You would be wise to glance through the last 10-20 pages of posts in this forum, you will see that your question has been asked and answered in detail before.
Briefly:
The campus is very nice. Exeter is very nice. It's one of the smaller cities in the UK, in one of the more picturesque and rural parts of the country. There is little urban crime.
There are plenty of international students here. Most from China, but many from North American as well. The majority of students here are white and middle class (UK middle class not American middle class!) but there are plenty from less privileged backgrounds and from ethnic minority backgrounds too.
Social life: there are plenty of societies if you want structured activities to get involved in; there are a handful of clubs if you like music and dancing; mostly, socialising will involve just what you'd imagine of the UK - drinking beer in pubs.
Lots of people come here from lots of different backgrounds so it's impossible to say whether you'll 'fit in', but you won't stick out like a sore thumb.
You seem to already have formed a positive impression of the place. I doubt there's anything that anyone can say that will erase that. You might as well come here with a positive attitude, get stuck in and enjoy it.
Good luck making your choice.
