Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread III
Get yourself a tailored/slim fit one and you'll be fine

Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIIHmmm, this is my problem. I've always been a t-shirt/polo kind of guy because they fit really well to the body. I've always wanted to invest in a few more shirts because they look a little older/more sophisticated, but a lot are too baggy and so end up looking silly(Original post by JLXP)
I don't own one but whenever i see someone where one they always look baggy and ill-fitting
I've find a couple of good ones in Next, but other than up that haven't had any luck.

Definitely agree with the the baggy bit. I found ASOS oxford shirts to be absolutely perfect in fit though, unlike anywhere else I have tried though, might be worth a look if you're interested (perhaps size down too, as I needed to, although I generally do anyway for ASOS, and it's free returns/delivery so ordering multiple sizes might be a good idea too)(Original post by YMLT)

Just saw your post, but as I mentioned above, definitely found ASOS the best out of all the places I have tried and would recommend(Original post by YMLT)
Are Oxford shirts usually quite well fitted? I'm thinking of picking up a green, maybe pink one, probably from work or ASOS, but I hate stuff that hangs off me (unless it's a sweatshirt which I often buy intentionally baggy).
I guess it often varies, but there must be some kind of general fit to them

Looks like a good too (although quite expensive). Does anyone know what the difference between tailored or slim fit is? Thanks(Original post by Patto1989)

Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIIThat's probably twice its original RRP, since their clothing lines are basic and usually cheaper than Uniqlo, but Muji clothing tends to do the job and lasts a fair while.
Though with the exception of a couple of t-shirts and a blazer, I usually just buy stationery from them. -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIII've ordered a oxford shirt from ASOS so hopefully it will come in the next couple of days(Original post by YMLT)

Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIIAeropostale? It's pretty much Hollister with a different name not in the UK, far cheaper too. But that's obviously only good if your into Hollister gear for a start(Original post by freefrag)
I found myself in the US over the summer with a decent amount of money to blow.
Aside from J.Crew are there any shops that I should check out that don't exist in the UK/are waay more expensive?
-
Depends how much money you've got to spend! Check out ASOS for some ideas of what you like. Paddy will sing the praises of banana republic all day, and there stuff is Of good quality & is usually reasonably priced as well.(Original post by Gob Bluth)
Guys would be so grateful if someone could say something here. Do i buy online, go to the high street? Where's the cheapest places to get good quality clothes which suits what i want. Sales etc.?
More than anything would like to know the best high street stores to check out, same for online.
Check out Uniqlo for decent and cheap denim. Obvious other places are Reiss and Zara. Be very select with things from River island and top man as although they're cheap the quality usually isn't all that good.

Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread III
Ordered some plain tees from RI and they packed these chinos in too. Didn't order them and haven't been charged
fit pretty well too. Wondering what to wear on them, red works pretty well but they're weirdly brighter in real life so not everything sits well on them. Suggestions?

Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIIWhat colour are they, like a purpley blue?(Original post by JD.27)

If they're bright, pair them with something more neutral, like grey, black, white or brown.
Complementary colours would be pink-red-orange-yellow-green. Apply with care. -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIIGoing off the pic provided there are a lot of things on in the sale though its been on a while so good stuff is harder to come by.(Original post by Gob Bluth)
I want to get a new look, such as something like this. Taken from banana republic. I'm gonna budget £400-£500 for a new wardrobe. If i bought that entire outfit as it is is from BR it already takes up nearly the entire budget. So any ideas where to get specific stuff cheap? Also i'm a student (going into last year of uni), used to dressing crappy in the past, this a good look for that? What sort of other combos should i look for if this is good?
Blazer - if you want a more casual look, especially for uni use, then check out uniqlo, they have a huge sale on atm you could probably pick up two or three for around a hundred quid
Shirts - again uniqlo are good for shirts at 15-20 quid, also try topman and asos their smarter shirts are usually a decent fit. Zara have a decent sale on too which makes all their stuff much more affordable on a smaller budget thought I've never personally brought from them so not sure about quality
Jeans - in this case definitely better to buy a couple of high quality pairs than splash out on the cheap stuff. I'm not one hundred percent on my denim knowledge but APCs, Naked & Famous, Nudie, Acne are all meant to be pretty good. They cost a but more but on sale you can find them at reasonable rates.
Quality is better than primark, probably H&M too. Is decently made I've picked up the odd thing from there a couple times and no complaints yet.(Original post by chupacabraconcadabra)
have you bought from there before? What's the quality like? Same level as Primark > H&M > Topman > River Island?? -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIINot purpley, more a sky blue, not sure if the pic is for the exact ones. Sticking to the red/orange and brown for now it seems to work well(Original post by py0alb)

Not purpley, more a sky blue, not sure if the pic is for the exact ones. Sticking to the red/orange and brown for now it seems to work well
Yeah I was thinking I would wear either brown shoes + belt + beige jacket with either white or coloured (pink, red, orange, yellow) polo shirt, or same but with black shoes + belt + jacket. -
Re: The Male 'Fashion' Thread IIINope, retailed for £75 in selfridges and unable to get anymore. So i'm happy with it.(Original post by ЯOЯЯIM)
