Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3wHAT DID YOU WRITE ABOUT DAB BEING BETTER?(Original post by stardude8)
In p2, there were questions on something to do with alpha radiation and a liquid, then why repeats were used, and then interpreting a graph on different radiation types.
In p1, there was a question asking to show that the frequency of a 1mm wave was 3x10^11.
That's all the other questions I can remember. I am trying to think of the rest. Hope this helps
Another for p1 was an advantage of DAB (1 mark), and something to do with interference for 2 marks. -
Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3Thanks, I've updated my posts(Original post by stardude8)

Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3I wrote DAB allows access to more stations(Original post by gcseis)

Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3What did you write for the answer for that(Original post by stardude8)
There was also a power=voltagexcurrent question, followed by calculating energy supplied in kwH. There was then a question about a new 10p rate versus a previous 12p/6p rate, and you had to say why it wouldn't save any money, I think. -
Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3The main difference of the two i think is that an AC changes direction while and DC travels in one direction (e.g a straight line across the graph) therefore i wrote that the second current was AC as the direction of the current changed similar to the current in the previous graph.(Original post by SweatyGoldfish)
Was it an AC or DC?Last edited by Mahii; 30-05-2012 at 19:51. -
Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3
Power was 2.07 Kw I think (230x9=2070W=2.07Kw) Units of electricity was 2.07x12=24.84 units. Then I said something about how a lot of the electricity units came from things left on overnight, so there was a 4p gain for more units than there was a 2p reduction for, I' m not too sure about it.
-
Yeah that's what I wrote, 4 marks.for me(Original post by stardude8)

if the grade boundaries are as low a January we would only need 44/75... Which means about 14,15,15 in each module :O

Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3I wrote multiplexing!:/ would that be a mark??(Original post by gcseis)
wHAT DID YOU WRITE ABOUT DAB BEING BETTER? -
I wrote multiplexing and can be amplified without interruption -.- hopefully?(Original post by ghost_rebel)

Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3
It was 44 for an A* in Physics in january, probably because it was the first time it was sat (this syllabus), I believe it was also 46 for biology, and 52 for chemistry. Ridiculously low, so let's hope for low boundaries this time as well for all three!

Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3
wow those grade boundaries are low! really? where did you hear that from
thats kind of made my day because i found this exam so difficult! some of the questions were a bit cheeky because of how they worded them...so much harder than the biology and chemistry exam!
-
From the OCR Website, and really? I thought biology was the hardest abd chemistry was the easiest, this one was fine, but yep! Some silly questions, wording anyway!(Original post by dory123)

Re: OCR Gateway Physics 30th May 2012 P1 P2 P3Same here although I did find physics to be more difficult than I thought(Original post by shadab786ahmed)

Can you remember any other questions from the exam I can add to posts 29, 30 and 32 on page 2?
