Well yes, but hypothetically, if the birth rate of the African population declined dramatically, there are two possibilities. Either the government would hoard even more money, or the standard of living would rise. In a country like the UK, the latter would likely happen. However, because people are unlikely to simply cut off their own bloodlines, the government would have to intervene to achieve this result.

I'm not supporting the OP's position per se, but I can see the logic behind it.
I can see the logic behind it but it's premise is incorrect; it assumes that people are only consumers and not producers. People can only consume more than they produce because of the state, or if they commit crime (but we punish that anyway).

All I want is for people to see the logic.
I'm using this for my debate in school and I wanted to trial.

Our task was to choose a controversial topic, I think I'll be alright due to the other topics available. Thanks for the concern though.

but your saying he got something right ie we should forcefully sterilize said unwanted group of people because of the money they where born into. something highly disturbing. you claim person A is disadvantageous to sociaty and assume A'S children will be disadvantageous as well
secondly have you lived in their situation if you had you would disagree

Everyone with an IQ below 90, Jeremy Kyle would go out of business. People who are so dumb that they're aggressive, the mother of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqHgZ02FX88

The thing is, stupid people sometimes have genius children, although its very likely that there children will also be stupid, they may also be the potential parents of an Einstein or Hawking. Can't really win - I don't think sterilisation is a good idea for that reason, however, I feel it would. Important distinction between thinking (using reason) and feeling (not using reason).

I used, as I've said, money as an example.

Thank you for thinking of both sides. Helpful comment.

yes i know i was claiming you used a poor example. I can't think of an exampel where sterilising was the most humane option

Yes but humane is not always the way to go.
The world is ****ed up yes? Maybe we should 'break the rules' and that could help.

This is purely hypothetical, but someone who is mentally ill and compulsively sleeps with people, but has some hereditary illness that would be passed on to any resultant child. That is obscure I know, but I'm sure there may be a few cases when it is.

A hereditary disease is one of my arguments. Obviously not anyone with said disease, but under circumstances.

I'm not on benefits, don't have 5+ children and work hard in school. So thanks but I don't fit the parameters - maybe, judging by your lack of intellect from that comment, you could be the first one to participate?
This is stupid... very stupid... How would this be even enforced?

Tell me how rendering someone infertile is akin to killing someone.

Basically killed Turing. It's no way to treat a hero.

Wouldn't it be more cost effective to kill the people you disapprove of, rather than sterilising them?
