Loughborough Accomodation Reccomendations
Hi everyone ! I am studying at Loughborough University from October 2012 and Im just wondering if anyone's got any recomendations for accomodation . Im going self catered so my options are Butler Court , Falkner Eggington on tour, Harry French , Telford and William Morris . Any help would be appreciated !

Hi
My budget is around £3000-£4700 . I have only mentioned half of the self catered halls because I want a 39 week contract and they are the only halls that are for 39 weeks .
That's quite a big variation in potential budget
If you know if you want an ensuite or not, 3ft or 4ft bed, that sort of thing, it would help to narrow it down.
Have you seen this thread? There's a few opinions from students about some of the different halls in there

Re: Loughborough Accomodation ReccomendationsIn my opinion, yes. There's a big thread here about it though (not specific to Loughborough)(Original post by michaelchevo)
Well Im not too fussed on the size of the bed , ensuite or not is something I would like to get advice on because obviously everyone would love en suite but im wondering whether the difference in price is actually worth it

Are you looking to be near anything in particular? Any strong preference about on campus or off campus? -
Re: Loughborough Accomodation ReccomendationsFalk Egg will be further and Telford isn't as close as the other three either. If you definitely want to be on campus it rules out William Morris (everyone calls it Bill Mo) and Harry French, but they're not far away so I'd still consider them(Original post by michaelchevo)
Thanks , well Id prefer to be on campus close as possible to my study area (sports science) . I have checked the campus map and they all seem to be within a similiar distance of the sports science buildings ! :P
Butler Court is practically next door.

Re: Loughborough Accomodation Reccomendations
Don't factor the closeness of your 'department buildings' into your choice of accom. Most of your lectures will be in the main lecture theatres in James france (CC and D on the map) or Edward Herbert Building aka EHB (J on the map). I picked elvyn in my first year as it was close to department, but then all my lectures were as above.

Re: Loughborough Accomodation Reccomendations
I would go somewhere that's better value for money according to your needs. If you're looking for catered, Cayley seems best value for money. If you don't mind cooking for yourself, go for Harry French or Falk-Egg on tour (who have just been refurbished). HF might be closer to lecture theatres though, as well as Sainsbury's and town.

Re: Loughborough Accomodation ReccomendationsWhy? I'm in Falk Egg at the minute and its fine, its really not that bad.(Original post by MrManwelo)
I'd choose Telford or Bill Mo. I would avoid Falk Egg like the plague. But for that budget, can you not stretch a little more and go catered? -
Re: Loughborough Accomodation Reccomendations
Hi, im going to be studing Textile Design at lboro in October, and was wondering if anyone knew where design students tend to choose?
I really like hazelrigg-rutland and robert bakewell, but they are a fair way away from the art department near the college. I am considering william morris but like the look of the other two better. -
Re: Loughborough Accomodation ReccomendationsVillage court isn't new(Original post by dkjackson7)
I've been told that falk egg used to be like council houses but is now 'on tour' in village court which looks really nice and new, is that true?
