Are these separate GCSEs? How do I calculate my grades?
I finished all my GCSE sciences.
I did all three (Physics, Biology, Chemistry) GCSE AQA core science exams
All three GCSE AQA additional science exams
And just recently all three GCSE AQA triple science exams.
Is each exam one GCSE?
Or do they fit together? Is each set (Core, Additional, Triple) a single GCSE each?
Or are each separate science (physics, biology, chemistry) a single GCSE each?
And finally how do I calculate my grades given the grades I got in each individual exam? -
Re: Are these separate GCSEs? How do I calculate my grades?
Core biology, chemistry and physics (along with the ISA) combine to form one core science GCSE. Additional biology, chemistry and physics (and the ISA) form one additional science GCSE. The other three are all separate.
For core and additional, biology, chemistry and physics each count as 25%, with the ISA making up the final 25%. Not sure about how triple grades are calculated. -

My Physics teacher said my triple Physics grade is combined with my core physics and additional physics grades but I was starting to ponder about those who didn't do triple physics? And if I did good in all the others well and one bad would the bad one that wasn't necessary lower my overall Physics grade? -

Other three?

. You should end up with five science GCSEs; biology, chemistry, physics (just from the triple), core science, and additional science. Colleges/universities only ask for double or triple so it shouldn't matter if you only do badly in one.

One core science GCSE
one additional science GCSE
One triple physics GCSE
One triple biology GCSE
One triple chemistry GCSE
Btw is it different for each board? I did AQA for all of the science GCSEs.Last edited by Primus2x; 30-05-2012 at 22:26. -
Re: Are these separate GCSEs? How do I calculate my grades? One core, one additional, one physics, one biology, and one chemistry, yeah. It'll be more or less the same for each board.(Original post by Primus2x)
So that means I have:
One core science GCSE
one additional science GCSE
One triple physics GCSE
One triple biology GCSE
One triple chemistry GCSE
Btw is it different for each board? I did AQA for all of the science GCSEs. -
Re: Are these separate GCSEs? How do I calculate my grades? This is not the case(Original post by Damask-)
One core, one additional, one physics, one biology, and one chemistry, yeah. It'll be more or less the same for each board.
You are either entered for Core and Additional OR the Separate Sciences
If you are entered for the Separate Sciences then you are not awarded the Core and Additional -

This is not the case

I started and finished it this year, before that I'd completed core and additional.
