What case studies are people learning for development gap?

And for 6/8 mark questions, is there a more for every point made or what?

I am so nervous about this exam, I really don't know anything :/

Does anyone have good notes for a case study on Squattler Settlements (in the Changing Urban Environments topic)? I wanted to use Mumbai as my case study, but I can't find notes anywhere I'd be really grateful if anyone could help me, I'm stressing out here!

The less points you give using stats will allow you to develop your ont further therefore giving you 8 marks... The most successful candidates are those who use less stats but explain them further using geographical terminology also , a perfect answer is not needed for full marks ...I'm worried too cos it's hard to know what is acceptable to write etc... Gd luck!!
Thank you and good luck to you too what topics are you doing?

I'm doing Changing Urban Environments; Globalisation and Tourism.

Here are all the case studies you need to know for the particular topics:

    Population Change:
*A case study of China's policy since the 1990s and one of a non birth control population policy.
*A case study of the problems and strategies in one EU country with an ageing population.

    Changing Urban Environments:
*A case study of a squatter settlement redevelopment.
*A case study of sustainable urban living.

    Changing Rural Environments:
*A case study of a rural area in the UK to illustrate the
    following points:
    - Reasons for and consequences of rural depopulation and the decline in rural services in remote areas.
    - The characteristics and factors significant to a declining village.
    - Growth in the ownership of second homes.
*A case study of a commercial farming area in the UK to
    illustrate the following points:
    - The development of agri-businesses and the impact of modern farming practices on the environment.
    - Demands from the market with reference to the demands of the supermarket chains and food processing firms.
    - Competition from the global market.
    - Development of organic farming.
    - Government policies aimed at reducing the environmental effects of high impact farming.

    The Development Gap:
*A case study of a natural hazard.
*A case study of one development project.

    Globalisation:
*A case study of one TNC.
*A case study of one type of renewable energy.

    Tourism:
*A case study of either a UK National Park or a UK coastal resort. The reasons for its growth as a tourist destination. The effectiveness of strategies to cope with the impact of large numbers of tourists. Plans to ensure the continuing success of the tourism industry in the area.
*A case study of an established tropical tourist area which attracts large numbers of visitors.
*A case study of one extreme area and the extent to which it can cope with the development to a tourist industry.
*A case study of the ways that ecotourism can benefit the environment, the local economy and the lives of the people.

    nit 2
    Changing Urban Environments
    Tourism
    and Globalisation
Apparently, for Unit 1 every one found it difficult because of the wording of the questions... my teachers suggested that we should read the specification as the wording was directly from it. Also there was a question for 14 marks (6 and 8 ) for one case study ... so yh... im terrified :0 !! I hope the grade boundaries for unit 2 are very low and the questions arent too tough(

Hmm, I don't know. Kenya is a tropical country but the question was centred around the Caribbean. I think if you made valid points on Kenya then you should get a couple marks,
