So if it's in the "advanced settings" in the post box, does that mean I have to switch it off every time I post/reply? That would be quite annoying.
I don't think so. That setting should stick, whatever you set it to.

So what about being able have the app open into your favourite forums? I really don't need to see all the latest posts from Health and Relationships..
You can customise what the app opens to, but it's not too obvious. Do you see the black bar that runs across the bottom of the app, with the five icons? Click on "More...", then click on "Edit" in the top right hand corner to change what appears in that black bar and the order they appear in. The app should open on the left-most page, so if you want to open the app to your watched threads, drag the "Watched" icon to the leftmost position of the black bar

The setting is permanent even after you restart the app etc. :yep:

I can't seem to move any of the icons on the black "edit" page..

You aren't supposed to change the order of the icons on the black "edit" page. However, if you drag the icon above an existing one (in the bottom menu bar), it should light up and you will be able to replace the selected item.

Instead of deleting everything, try replacing it with a space " " . That might work, I'm not entirely sure tho.

Just tried to get on to the education and teaching subforum in postgraduate and for some reason that section links to the subforum in a browser. Not sure why this is, can view individual threads in that subforum but not the actual subforum. Doesn't apply to other subforums either, though I haven't checked them all!

Frustrating as tsr input boxes don't have fun in my browser.

I think the app is really good! For some reason, Safari can be quite slow to respond when I'm typing up in full website view, but this makes it a lot quicker. Most of the suggestions I had have already been raised in this thread, but a suggestion which comes to mind is that it would be nice to be able to view and vote in polls.

If you return to the android application in a thread then press the back button to get back to your list of discussions then it just quits the application

    Create a blackberry app

I've given up accessing TSR from my phone completely now as it's too slow even on Opera mini.

So please don't use the number of people accessing TSR from blackberry's as a way to monitor demand for a blackberry app cos it's more likely we're just not bothering

Or create a mobile version of the site with fewer images/graphics/code slowing things down (unless that's been done in the last few months while I've been away?)

Tbh I've found the site has been more laggy on mobile lately. I'm on android, stock browser. It seems to load, appear to be done, then refresh and move completely causing lots of mis-clicks. I think it's the ads loading last. The ads also load over the top of pop-up menus etc so I can't click them

I wish they could get all the bbcode to work (other than just the basic smilies).

Also it would be good to have rep working.

But I'm sure these are all on the way soon :dontknow:

    Just fix small things,

    1) being able to upload photos properly all the time (it says I do not have permission)

    2) being able to quote people all the time (sometimes it says, sorry the thread is closed, but will let me quote another post by same user)

    3) when it updates to have the last posters username WITH their image, because it normally has one users image and another's username...

Reduced intrusion of the default message added when posting from the app. I do not believe that the short-term gains of increasing the visibility of the apps are worth messing up so many posts (that will remain on the site forever) by having an obnoxious final line that interrupts the flow of conversation and makes threads look terrible.
:ditto: It's so frustrating. Especially for users like me who still have an old-fashioned phone and therefore have no need to know that such apps exist because they honestly do not care. It looks ugly and it is not benefiting me at all. I know that the point is to let users know that the app exists but I feel that all it is doing is annoying people most of the time. :sadnod:

The swear filter is still active in the back room. Especially annoying when you use the app especially to post in the moaning thread/etc and want to swear lots.

Re: TSR apps - how would you improve them?
Love the app, it's been well coded and seems to load data faily quickly and efficiently without consuming too much bandwidth. However, there are a few things that I would really like to see that would make the app a 5-star app:

    1. Add a "Who Quoted me" section. It's quite annoying using TSR on the app and not being aware or knowing if anyone quoted you without having to manually scroll through your participated thread or logging into a computer. Very annoying

    2. Add functionality to +/- Rep for posts AND also be able to view a post's current rep as is currently seen on the TSR website. (Please don't make it so that you have to click on a post and then click on a button such as 'view rep' or something - it should be viewable below/beside every post without having to press anything).

    3. Add the ability to scroll to the top by clicking on the clock at the top of the screen on iOS devices (as is now often the standard across many iOS apps). The functionality exists when scrolling through the list of threads such as in the 'Unread' section etc, but does not exists when viewing posts in a particular thread.

    4. Ability to change colour schemes/themes would be a nice bonus, and am sure it's pretty simple to add to the app.

If the above recommendations are implemented, particularly the first 3, it would make a fantastic app.

Please keep us updated if you will be implementing any of the suggested improvements.

    Thanks

1)Ability to see people's profile picture/ tap view profile then double tap on the picture to see it.
    2) Positive and negative rep
    3)See people's gems
4)See how much rep you have, on what threads
    5)See who quotes you
