Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision?
I've not had any exams yet.
First is in 16 days.
I've studied but I'm absolutely terrified.
I need AAB.
Although it is possible, I'm feeling very unconfident.
I do between 3-5 hours a day. Definitely increasing this as I only have 2 weeks left.
How about you?~ -
Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision? So far I've had 2 out of 7 exams and my next is in 2 weeks! I've Made notes and covered the specification for all of my subjects but I'm still unsure on points so I'm going to spend these 2 weeks trying to slam the knowledge into my head and trying some past papers etc..I've been doing 3-6, hours a day I think but it doesn't feel enough!(Original post by JessNurden)

Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision?
First A2 exam is in 15 days biology unit 4
got unit 5 chem bio and Core 4 maths
Need 208/240 ums in my bio papers to get my A seems unlikely but Im gonna really give It my all the practical paper brought my whole grade down I got a C/D so around 32 ums if the mark stays the same.
need trying to get as high as possible in chem 5 as I need an A and there is a chance of one in Chemistry however its not that high as my unit 1 resit when meh so need aroun 110/120 (very unlikely).
core 4 i need 75 to my B I focus way too much on maths and its too dependent on silly mistakes luck so I give up and settle for a B.
Im gonna try and get AAB but BBB seems most likely.
however as Alexander the great said.
'There is nothing impossible to him who will try.'
as for revision its going over and memorizing details still need to finish some C4 integration chem5 I have the knowledge now its learning it to exam standard. Biology is just well memorize, understand and apply.Last edited by Akbar2k7; 31-05-2012 at 11:21. -
Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision?Good luck, and I'm sure you can get the bio grade! My practical also let me down as my teachers were incompetent and said they couldn't teach us anything for the ISAs (despite the fact that most schools seem to cheat on their isas) and I ended up with a C/B. I need an A* in biology which means I probably need around 146-150/150 for bio 5 and 86-90/90 in bio4 (though I'm hoping for the 90/90 in bio4 and hopefiully 150/150 in bio 5(Original post by Akbar2k7)

Chemistry I'm also aiming for A* (because Oxford will accept an A* in chem instead of bio for my offer) but I'm not really that confident on chem 5
As I said before though, I'm sure you can do it! Have you tried out many past papers for chem and bio yet? -

Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision?Hehe. I haven't even started on Core 4. I got the content finished over Easter, but I left it since then as now I have 3 weeks free to revise it(Original post by Cath-ay)
For Maths Core 4, I'm almost done
Chemistry - about 2 thirds complete
Biology... Erm *looks at floor...* barely anything -.-
Need to do biology revision!!
Hope it's going to be enough, I need an A*..

Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision? That's 100 hours per subject.. What have you been doing with that time!? You could have written out your entire textbooks word for word, twice, and then translated the whole thing into another language in that long :O I would really speed up and consider why it's taking you so long.(Original post by hugebulls)
I've been doing 8 - 12 hours a day for the past month! I feel so lagged because of the caffeine! :P I've only done 60% of Geography, 50% in Politics and 50% Economics! gulp! -
Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision?yeah, really. Everyone I've talked to from different schools know teachers who've helped their students out during isas by essentially giving them the answers or cheating beforehand. I certainly wasn't implying a desire to cheat, but not teaching anything when lots of schools cheat seems to put everything on a very uneven playing ground. That's why Isa grade boundaries are generally so high.(Original post by tehforum)
oh really. -
Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision?
I'm quite prepared for Chemistry, need 96/120 UMS in the final Unit 5 paper for an A which is exactly the A grade boundary.
I haven't done too much for Biology, covered half of it, but then again I need an E (70/150 UMS) for B and like 130/150 UMS for A so I'm not gonna get an A.
I've winged most of the last 2 years for Economics and somehow got myself into a position where I need around 77-82 / 100 UMS in the final Unit 4 paper to get an A.
Fingers crossed I get ABB, or even AAB if I get a good Economics paper! -
Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision? Then schools like that disgust me.(Original post by Chaofan88)

Biology 5 no full past papers yet but I have done a few essays since in my AQA syllabus we have a synoptic essay. -

Hehe. I haven't even started on Core 4. I got the content finished over Easter, but I left it since then as now I have 3 weeks free to revise it

I'm with AQA and the exam is in exactly two weeks
If you don't have many other exams, 3 weeks is plenty imo!

Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision?Edexcel. It might be plenty to you but I was always behind on this module due to only attending half of the lessons :O - I'm yet to get higher than a low A in a paper :\ (only happened once by fluke(Original post by Cath-ay)

Oh ok. You finished your module over easter though? I finished mine about 3 weeks after easter o.o(Original post by Junaid96)

In the end, it's a question of how badly you want that A*... I reckon you could do each past paper about 2 or 3 times in those three weeks - two papers a day maybe? I know someone who did something similar to this and she got 100 ums in C3 and C4! I'm sure the same concept apply to all exam boards for maths - there aren't many other ways to do it :/ -
Re: A2 students: how far are you into your revision?Oh, when I said I finished the module over Easter I should have said I caught up with the rest up of the class. We hadn't done chapter 6 yet.(Original post by Cath-ay)

I'm desperate for an A*, this is my most important exam
Yep, I'm hoping that I'll be disciplined enough to do 2 papers a day. To be honest papers aren't that much effort - even when I'm really unproductive I can listen to music, browse around and do the occasional question
I'm so thankful for the free 3 weeks though
