    Anyone had a preputioplasty............?
I went to see a urologist consultant yesterday and I asked for this as I didn't want full circumcision yet. Tried using steroid cream for about 1-2 years without any success. Supposedly I have partial phimosis and really hope this does the job. My questions are:

    1) How effective was it for you?
    2) What was recovery time like? i.e when could you start masturbating etc. without any problems/discomfort? cheers

I had a frenuloplasty, which was vaguely similar. Around 4 weeks afterwards I was able to resume sex - albeit slowly.

Solved all previous problems, no pain at all any longer.

oh ok, did you have partial phimosis as well? I thought I might need a frenoplasty but the urologist didn't say I did

    No.

Frenuloplasty is a form of preputionplasty though, albeit a loose definition.

It ought to be fairly similar; recovering won't be the most fun in the world, but it really isn't too bad so long as you get plenty of rest the first few days and let it heal.

I didn't and it bled for 2 weeks or so.

Did you mean preputioplasty? I thought that frenuloplasty was when you you had your frenulum cut? Did you get part of your foreskin cut or was it just the frenulum?

A surgical modification of the frenulum of prepuce.

It involves one incision in the frenulum and two in the foreskin and then the skin is rearranged in order to extend the frenulum.

I understand both procedures and considering they both involve incisions or similar size in the same area I feel comfortable giving advice on recovery times.

ok, yeh Im not sure what I need then. Cos basically, I thought I needed a frenoplasty originally as the thread from my foreskin which goes from my foreskin up to the hole seems quite tight and seems to impede movement of the foreskin back. But the urologist said I needed circumcision but I said I didn't want that yet and we agreed that I would have a pretupioplasty. It sounds like you had a similar situation?

I'm having a frenuloplasty this week, but I think a preputioplasty would help as well. If a surgeon agrees would he do it at the same time?

cool mate, could you let me know how it goes? Im booked in at the end of July. Do you not have a tight foreskin? Is it just the frenulum causing the problem?

Yeah I'll let you know, I can retract while flaccid but this pulls the head down due to the short frenulum. I think I'll be able to retract while erect after the frenuloplasty, but not 100% sure I might also need a preputioplasty. Just have to wait and see.

ok, I can reatract whilst flaccid but it often gets stuck but while erect, it only retracts a little as its too tight. Do you have that problem as well?

It doesn't get stuck while flacid but it still feels tender and slightly tight. Yeah when erect I can't get the foreskin back very far, however I feel this is due slightly to the short frenulum. I had the frenuloplasty today, but haven't managed to have a good look yet with the foreskin down due to swelling and stitches. I'll let you know how its looking in a few days and how much this has helped me.

p.s. My urologist is recommending me a full circumcision if this doesn't help, which I'm not too happy about. I mentioned about slits with the preputioplasty but he didn't seem to care and mentioned it would look 'unsightly'. Still I'd rather it look 'unsightly' than have to have a full circumcision.

Unsightly? Ok, I thought it didn't look much different, it would just allow the foreskin to move more. I understand you not wanting circumcision, pretty drastic and think you loose all feeling in your penis head.

Yeah i found a blog on the internet, that shows somones before and after with a preputioplasty, and I think it doesn't look unsightly at all. Can I post the link here? do you wana see it? Or am I suppose to private message it you?

To be honest I think it was just the urologist I was talking to, some are very pro circumcision and don't consider many other options which is pretty annoying. Not once has a doctor or urologist mentioned preputioplasty to me which just goes to show they don't know much on the subject.

It's healing slowly but surely, A few of the stitches have dissolved and overall I think it was the right thing to do. Now when rolling back the head isn't pulled down nearly as much. Are you still going through with yours?
