Re: Fruit picking job
I did this when I was younger as my family (Uncle) own a farm. I was 14 when I first did it, and got £4 an hour which wasn't too bad, as I did six hours a day for a period of about 2 weeks (they have a lot of fruit fields, and I did a lot of clearing up in the second week once everything was picked). It is good fun if other people are there as you can have a laugh, but it's quite hard work and can be uncomfortable if it's particularly hot.
EDIT: Sorry, the farm was in Lancashire (UK). -

Re: Fruit picking jobI did this two summers ago, picking strawberries and raspberries 4 days a week over the summer. I got £5 an hour (they had a lot of pickers, so couldn't pay us anymore than that), but it was really hard work, but fun in its own way too! I suppose it depends on what fruit you are picking, strawberries near the ground are bound to be harder than apples on a tree, but it kills your back and I got really sunburnt on the back of my neck and arms, even while applying sun block every half an hour! It was good for team building though and we got to keep 10% of everything we picked.
