Start off with something low-key and build it up from there...even if it's just asking what the homework is for that week or whatever. You could always become study buddies ref: "10 Things I Hate About You", "Mean Girls" and "The Inbetweeners" - seems to be a time-honoured technique.
Is holding a door open a start?

Do you fancy her or not? If yes, that shouldn't be too hard to talk to her, as she obviously fancies you.
Half of the work is already done, just don't spoil it and it should be fine.

Would you like to explain what you are implying with this?
No I would not, you don't deserve it. It is blatantly obvious what this girl thinks, stop being so naive.

It appears you like her; she clearly does but is too shy. The ball is on your court now. If you are friends with any of the people in that group and can trust them, ask him/her if she knows anything.

Play it like this. Build up some friendly rapport with her and when it feels right say something like, "Hey we should go out for a drink sometime". If she comes up with an excuse to say she's busy then she's kindly rejecting you; if she starts asking you when and where to meet etc then you're in there.
