Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012I can't guess really. It felt about the same as usual to me. There was nothing peculiar like the block that magically split in half from a year or two ago anyway!(Original post by Smiley Face :))
also I know you don't like estimating grade boundaries, but what do you think that the grade boundary will be for this paper... and do you think it was hard? -
Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012Cool, plus could you answer my previous question? Also thanks for the ppts and the old exams!!! Really helped me out!(Original post by Mr M)

Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012I expect you will just lose 1 or 2 marks in part (i)(Original post by Nathan1234)
hi,
for the very last question,7, i didn't divide by 0.5 so got half for the following questions, because i got 1.55m/s, if i get ECF how many would i get.
thanks -

Hey Mr M!
For question 5 I had the right method but ended up getting the wrong mass, and this error was then carried on throughout the rest of question 6, how many marks will I lose for the whole question. (I'm pretty sure my method was completely correct).
Thanks! -
Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012drop 1 mark(Original post by BenjaminKyle)
how many marks would be lost in 5iii) for forgetting to multiply the distance Q has moved downwards by 2 for the distance P has above the surface at the point Q hits the ground - (I then proceeded to correctly work out the new acceleration of P and added on the extra distance) i.e. adding 0.11025 and 0.02756... instead of (2x0.11025) and 0.02756... and getting the correct answer of 2.38. -
Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012thanks, but what about the following questions?(Original post by Mr M)
I expect you will just lose 1 or 2 marks in part (i) -
Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012
cheers for the answers mr m! made some silly mistakes tho:
For 3)(ii), I worked out the distance of B to be 8m (area of triangle), but stupidly for A I worked out the distance as 3.6m (area of the trapezium, not the rectangle underneath), and since it was 1m behind B I just did 7 - 3.6 = 3.4m as a result for my answer, how many out of 5 will I lose for this?
7)(ii)(c) For the acceleration, instead of differentiating that equation I just used the suvat equation without realising that acceleration was not constant, how many out of 3 marks will I lose for this?
thanks! -
Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012Drop 1 mark for q3.(Original post by Smiley Face :))
Hi sir, if for q 3 iii I forgot to +1 .. but got 11.6m how many marks do you think I will lose and also 6iii... If I got r = 22.6 and then used my answer to work out Mew to be 0.821... How many marks do you think I will lose?? thanks sir
Not sure about the other one as you haven't told me anything you did right. -
Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012ok, thanks sir(Original post by Mr M)
Drop 1 mark for q3.

Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012Would it be to safe to say around 56 is an A...(Original post by Smiley Face :))
ok, thanks sir
so 64 should be around 85 UMS?? -
Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012
Hello, I am sorry if this has already been asked but can't see it in this thread.....
for 3) ii) the sprinter question, I worked out both areas ok but then minus 1 instead of plus for the final distance so I got 10.6m instead or 12.6m do you reckon I'll lose a few marks for that or only a couple?
thanks

Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012This is a bit vague - lose 2 or 3?(Original post by tooambitious)
When we had to work out mew for P I got friction right but incorrectly resolved for the reaction, did everything else right, how many marks do you think I'd lose? Grazie

Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012Lose 1(Original post by gpsmith26)
I know it's difficult to judge, but obtaining 11.6 for 3ii) then subtracting 1m, how many marks would be lost, thanks

Re: Mr M's OCR (not OCR MEI) M1 Answers May 2012
Here are my mistakes:
1. (i) I know the answer was 15N, but i think i might have stupidly put 17N out of habit because it was resultant, got the angle right though
3. (ii) Did everything else ok but I forgot about the + 1 and got 11.6m
6. (ii) I included Tsin40 but not the T and got 4.11N
7. (ii)(a) I put 3.1m/s rather than 3.1 (Will i still lose marks?)
(iv) I put 1.42m/s (3 S.F)
Does anyone have any idea how much marks i might have lost? Anyway, i think i did ok but was a hard paper i thought. The graph question was, to me, one of the hardest they've done and when i saw question 6 at first glance my soul left my bodyLast edited by KH3HR; 31-05-2012 at 18:47.
