    £10K holiday
If you knew someone who had, say, £10K to spend on a holiday for themselves and a friend, would you suggest a shorter, but more luxury holiday, or a long trip to lots of countries?

A longer trip around several countries - I'd buy a motorbike and head down to South America, ending up in Cape Horn

Definitely a longer trip! My friend took just over £12k and got around a number of countries (she's been travelling for a year)... it looks like she had an amazing time.

    £10k for a holiday :surprise:

Think i'd buy motorbike training, buy a bike and a tent and travel around Europe for a few weeks.

Christ. You could travel the world for a year with that kind of money. Definitely a long-term trip. Frittering it away at some 6 star hotel in Dubai in a few weeks would actually make me feel physically sick.

We were thinking in terms of a long City break and a spa break combined as one possibility, somewhere like San Francisco or Rome or a luxury trip to Switzerland with a mountain spa and resort/ski holiday, not just staying in one hotel. The other option is to do more of a tour type of thing.

You can get three weeks in the South of France or North of Italy (along the coast... Portofino for instance) in a decent villa at 2.500-3.000€pw.

I'd take the trip to France or Italy over a long trip to lots of countries... too much travelling for my liking imo.

Yep. You can spend upwards of £500 a night at luxury hotels over there comfortably.

Defo. Heck some hotels in Dubai charge £2000 a day.
