Yeah it can be done if you are in a practice with a good patient list and you're fast.

Dentistry doesn't seem that bad of a career option if you work hard and secure the type of job and practice you would like to work in then no?
So what's the state of dentistry like
The state of dentistry depends on where/what you're doing. The NHS is in a state of flux, no one really knows yet what the future contract will be like. So I reckon if you're in a corporate doing predominantly NHS work it must fairly soul destroying. In private practice I would suggest there is more cause for optimism as the economy improves etc, particularly as new technologies/materials evolve which make the job more interesting/stimulating. The GDC are an irritant who have whacked our fees up disproportionately and the ever increasing litigious (dental) world we live in can be depressing at times!
