Sorry if this is the wrong place!
    Hello,

I posted an advertisement on Gumtree a week ago, expressing interest in doing some work as a babysitter/part time Nanny while I was studying in September.

I had a response this morning- spoke to the family on the telephone and they seem lovely. BUT- they have told me their "house manager" will be interviewing candidates as they are off to Italy for the Summer next week and on their return will be the day the job starts

So what do I do, go for the interview with the "house manager" or keep clear? Surely they want to meet me before I work with their children?!

They must trust their "house manager".
If you don't feel comfortable, then you can keep clear.

Well there's no harm in going to the interview. You can always turn down the job offer if you think it's a bit fishy.

I don't see how that's fishy....they obviously have a bit more money than most; if anything, better wages!
