    C3 January 2012 Question 8
    I don't understand how to do this question at all. Could someone please help me out?

    Well to start with - can you think how you would write tan(x) in terms of sin(x) and cos(x)? How might you express tan(A+B) in terms of sin(A+B) and cos(A+B), then?

     \displaystyle \tan(A+B) = \frac{ \sin(A+B)}{\cos(A+B)} = \dots

    Expand  \sin (A+B) \ and \ cos(A+B)

    Then try to figure out that by which thing you can divide the numerator and denominator by to get the required form.
