As if this didn't make the list, must be one of the most powerful political statements ever caught on camera.

    Great find OP! Really moving.
The Vietnam girl in the napalm attack does always get me though, surprised it wasn't there.

    Nice.

A few missing from that list that have been highlighted by others but quite a few I hadn't seen before.

I think the list has been skewed by too many not very memorable recent war and protest photos.

    May I suggest these:-

Didn't expect to be moved, shed a few tears at the start then was full on crying near the end!
    #15 shouldn't be there though.

#16 hit me hard for some reason. I know there have been far worse natural disasters, but it really does show how much these things can impact people's lives. Everything this man has ever worked for gone in an instant - enough to reduce him to tears. It really was moving.

If there is ever a big event in the news, this site always has plenty of hard hitting, quality pictures, it's worth bookmarking: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/

The picture that affected me most isn't on that list. It's the one that Kevin Carter took in Sudan and won the Pulitzer Prize for. I've never seen anything so haunting in my life.

I thought I would add these two pictures that I saw in a magazine a few weeks ago, both from the break up of Yugoslavia.

First one is the victim of rape been comforted by some soldiers:

The riot policeman (policewoman?) with the heart is pretty cute, especially as he/she still has to look totally serious.

To me the soldier receiving last rites after being fatally wounded by a sniper is the most impressive/tragic/moving one.
