HELP - I think I have made the wrong decision. :'(
    Hello!

Basically I think I have made the wrong decision on my uni choices. I orginally wanted to go to London to study marketing/PR. I have always loved London and I wanted to be part of such a vibrant city.

I applied to City and KCL. Recieved and offer from City but was rejected from KCL.

City wanted AAA and when I went to the post-application day I felt there was no atmosphere (I don't drink but even I could feel it) and it was mainly international students or rich students - no offence intended. I am neither of those.

So I opted to put Durham as my firm which wanted ABB. I felt this was more achievable because I didn't do as well in my january modules as I had orginally hoped. When I visited the stockton campus at Durham I felt as if I 'fitted in' and it wasn't so drink heavy etc. However I wasn't as impressed with the job prospects.

Basically, I REALLY wanted to study in London. Everyone tried to put me off which is why I only applied to two uni's there. Durham is about 4.5 hours away from home where as London is about 2.

PR at Bournemouth is my insurance.

The thought of going all that way to uni if I get in upsets me. I am not excited to go to uni at all.

If I ended up getting AAA could I apply to KCL (business management) through adjustment even though they had already rejected me?

I REALLY don't want to take a gap year. It is not the 'norm' at my school and everyone would have gone. So I would be very lonely as I only have my mum, dad and brother around me as all other family members are spread across the country.

    What can I do?

Should I go to Durham, or maybe even go to Bournemouth because I loved the course (but not the uni lifestyle). Everyone was so proud of me getting into Durham.

    PLEASE HELP ME

I don't know what my options are

All I know is that everyone I know that have chosen London, they hate it! They complain that most people commute and you don't get to socialise as much. :dontknow:

If you really wanted to study in London why didn't you firm or at least put City as your insurance?

Honestly, I live in Newcastle and really like Durham (my Brother goes to Durham as well). It's one of the most respected uni's in the North East but isn't like you said for London, full of rich snobs - there are a few posh Wanabees there! But every uni has a few of them. The student union is pretty good and there are enough bars, but obviously not as many as London or Leeds or Manchester etc... The train station is really close by and theres a train to Kings cross every hour (stopping at all major train stations from Durham to the South). Don't think you should be put off by Durham, but obviously it's your choice and your preferences that matter. I think that if you do well in Uni a get a good degree, then you shouldnt worry too much about Job prospects because of the degree you want to do. Good luck and I hope you find the right uni
