    Symptoms of being bipolar
I've had depression for a long time but recently my moods have been up and down I'm wondering whether this is a symptom of being bipolar?

It depends how/exactly what kind of up and down and whether you've been having any other symptoms.

Best thing to do is make an appointment with your GP :yep:

if you are bipolar and you are put on just antidepressants for depression sooner or later you are going to go hypomanic or manic! agitative, no sleeping almost at all, maybe euphoric (if lucky), insanely energetic, extremely talkative and social, sudden bursts etc.

bipolar is serious condition and one should take care of it quickly.

The best thing to do is always to make an appoitment to see your GP. However bipolar moods are severe and long. Measured on a time scale of weeks and months rather than hours or days. (However this is isn't always the case, just typically is).

You need to see a doctor. Yes, mood swings are a symptom of bipolar disorder, but only a doctor can tell you if that is the cause.
