    Oh ok. Thanks Viet .

Because for my production question, I mentioned a lot of key words, because I know the examiners love them.

For example, for batch production, I said that the product was a 'Ferrari Enzo'. Said that it can be made from modern materials such as Carbon Fibre and Titanium. Also said it can be made from Kevlar because it is 5 times the strength of steel and is flame retardant. Said that batch production is more profitable for the manufacturer.
Then I said that manufacturing systems like CAD/CAM; global manufacturing could be used. Said that CAD/CAM could be used to design smaller car components on a CAD software such as AutoCad. Then I said the shape could be cut on a CAM machinery. Also said that QRM, used to give user flexibility.

For mass production, I said that the product was a 'BMW Mini Cooper'. Said that the product could be made out of Steel, Iron, Mild Steel.
Then I said that manufacturing systems like CAD/CAM, global manufacturing, FMS, Robotics, and JIT could be used.
Said that FMS allows changes to be made within the production line, because it is in the shape of a 'U'. Also said that Robotics could be programmed to do the same task repetitively. Also touched on JIT, said that it ensures the product to be on stock on time.

Wrote a conclusion, comparing and contrasting both products. In the conclusion, I said that the Cooper could be press formed.

This is what I exactly wrote in the exam.

In all honesty what do you think I might get out of 28?
I would think you get 9 for the Ferrari and 11 for the Mini. You have more explainations going on for the second one thus link the points together better. However, like I said in the other post, you could have:
    1) explain why the method is suitable for that type of car (you
kinda did, but it's subtle in the sense that it says "a Ferrari Enzo can be batch produced and here's how" rather than "it can be batch produced because...". Of couse I could be wrong cause I can't remember the wording of the question.
    2) talk about the environment, cost, market, production size etc.

But it was a solid answer nevertheless

+1 REP. Thanks Viet . Just hope I get 20/28, because that answer I gave you was what I literally wrote in the exam.

You don't mind assessing my other two essays?

    Good Design (12 Marks)
    My chosen products
    Routemaster Red Double Decker Bus
    1st bus with upper deck
    Hop on- Hop off service
No doors and situated at back of bus

    iPhone
    Designed by Sir Jonathan Ive

    Eiffel Tower
One of the largest skyscrappers in the world

    Mini Cooper
One of the smallest cars in the world. Comes in a variety of colours

I don't think I did very well on this question. I think I might get 4/12 . What about you?

Market Pull & Technology Push (28 Marks)
    Technology Push
Sony Walkman is an example of a technology push product. Technology push is when a product is introduced into the market when there is no need for it. Sony Walkman is a good example, because the Sony CEO persuaded his market team to market the product properly. Through rigorous marketing, the product became successful and people started buying it.

    Market Pull
iPhone by Apple is an example of a market pull product. Market pull is when there is a need in the market and a product is introduced to meet those needs. iPhone did just that, and so people started buying it.

I ran out of time for this question, and I only managed to do one side with literally everything I have listed above. Based on what I have written, I think I may get 8/28. What do you reckon?

Sorry, if I am being such a pain, this exam just worries me and I cant concentrate atm

With all due respect mate, the exam has been done. You can't change anything, so why keep asking all the god time for people to say what they think you got? They won't know, can only guess.

it doesn't sound like you have covered all the aspects of aesthetics they might require. You have talked about, I assume, the colours, size, orientations etc you could have talked more on the iPhone and Eiffel Tower. And, as I said before, I interpreted it differently 'cause I thought a range of product meant variations of the same product. Without the exact wording, I say you probably would have a low mark.

I think you probably being fair there, but I would think roughly 14/28. I mean, you don't have to write loads but I picked two products and wrote about all those 4 criteria for each, so I don't know really.
Sorry, if I am being such a pain, this exam just worries me and I cant concentrate atm
Just don't worry about it, 'cause even if you do you can't change it now. Concentrate on the others and do your best on them so you won't have to worry about them like you do this one.

Fair enough Viet. Thanks for giving me a rough mark BTW.

I think its just me over worrying like I usually do.

Just hope I did well. Will be happy with a B in this subject. Got A for the A2 coursework and resat the AS paper this exam season. Found the AS paper easy this year.

Now I just have C4 left. Time to smash this one after flopping C3 like a b*tch!

And now I hear that C4 will have a replacement paper . Things just get better for me, dont they!

Of course I don't feel too happy about it!

As it says on the Dailymail website, 'but Edexcel admitted there was a risk some pupils could still be given the original paper.'
