    Getting into Glasgow Caledonian
I am sitting three highers this year, English, Music and Geography, and I achieved a B in all three prelims, I created this thread simply because I have been seriously unimpressed by the colleges I have applied for. I had accepted 3 highers was not enough for uni, but right now I get that pit of the stomach feeling when I know I could have done so much better in 5th year, and my friends are off to University. Do you think I would have any realistic change of getting in through clearing to Glasgow Cali? Specifically the Social Science course? I can also potentially get onto a summer school course at Edinburgh University, if that would help my case. I am going to email the University, but they are closed until Wednesday.

You don't meet their typical offer, so the only thing anyone here can tell you is that you might be accepted but might not. Personally, I'd say it's more likely to be "might not", but I don't know for sure.

Hi there, well I am sort of an a similar boat. I too have applied to BA Social Sciences at Glasgow caledonian. Currently I am doing a HNC in social sciences, I got a C in the graded unit which states is fine on the website but they really want a B which I was two marks away from I phoned up today they said that I will need to wait till august, they says they dont know what the outcome will be but they are going to need to wait till august to determine if I will be accepted or not I will be granted a place (Fingers crossed) I am gutted too as I felt that I could of done much better All my friends are off to caley so I am gutted if I need to go to uws. I also asked the admissions tutor about summer school and she said that to be honest it wont help at all sorry but its good to see some one is in a similar situation as me and the same course so at least I'm not the only one!!

Good to see people applying to cali. I'm about to start my second year in pharmacology. I'm guessing it's going to be really hard to get into any uni in Scotland this year seeing how we don't charge for fees.

For students from outside Scotland we most certainly do.
