University of London degrees.

When you graduate from a college that's a member of the university of London, are all of the degrees the same? For example, if you were to complete a degree in the same subject and classification as somebody at a different college, would the degree itself be the same? In terms of the physical degree itself and the weight in graduate prospects?

Cheers.

Not really. Unis under the University of London do vary in prestige quite a bit.

I'd be willing to be a UCL degree is held in greater respect than a degree from The School of Oriental and African Studies. Not that a degree from the latter isn't respected.

I think you get 2 certificates. One from UoL and one from your college. The college degree will then differ in 'prestige'.

Not a very fair comparison. SOAS is very specialised and thus not as well known as UCL which offers a broader variety of courses. SOAS is still extremely well respected in its field however.

Yes I know, however I was using it as an example as OP never stated which degree or which college he is looking at.
