likeliness of pill not working?
Hmm ok so i'm on the pill, and have been having sex with my boyfriend.I recently had a bout of tummy flu (on the loo a hell of a lot if ya know what i mean) and kept taking my pill as normal.
(Been having sex around it lol, not at the same time, i'm not that gross. But it's a bit weird coz I had it bad, it went away but then it came back again :/)
Also I forgot my pill one night and had to take it the next morning.
So from this, how likely is it that i'm protected? Should I see someone? -
Re: likeliness of pill not working?
If you read your packet you should speak to your doctor if you have been vomiting or had diarrhoea while taking the contraceptive pill as it can mean it is not in your system and you are therefore no longer protected.
Diarrhoea or sickness can mean OP isn't protected.(Original post by Straggler)
Extremely unlikely that you're pregnant. Most contraceptive pills give you something like 99.9% protection. And missing a day or two won't matter either. They are designed in to account for odd forgetful days. Relax.
Also missing a pill can be very important, depending on how many you miss, how often and when in your cycle you miss a pill.Last edited by Vikki1805; 02-06-2012 at 15:52. -
Re: likeliness of pill not working?
When you took the pill the enxt morning, was it more than 12 hours later than you would normally take it? If it was and you weren't on the last 7 pills, then you should've used condoms for the next week. Plus diarrhorea can make pills ineffective even if they are taken properly. My pack says to use condoms for the week after you've had diarrhorea. I'd take a pregnancy test if you don't get your bleeding, even if you normally don't during your break.
