    Access course opinions...
Just wondering if there's anyone that has done an access course and is in university? If so, do you think the access course fully prepared you for higher education?

I'm doing an access course and although we have TONS of assignments which i can imagine will prepare me for uni we dont sit any exams and i'm starting to wonder if maybe that isn't a good thing after all.

    Opinions...?

Not at uni yet but a friend who is has said that people who done access were getting better grades, in the first year, then those weren't.

I'm thinking about doing one. There's a special sub-forum for mature students, you will find a lot of people there who do or have done access courses. Clicky!

I did an access course - great way to get into uni but a horrific way to prepare for it in my experience.

I'm doing maths and the stuff we did on the access is about half an A-Level at best. In the summer I actually went through a load of old A-Level papers to catch up before I started and although it was a bit of a jump, I did really well this year. Assignments are quite similar so it does prepare you in that way with deadlines and that, but I'd seriously recommend going through whatever A-Level stuff you can to put yourself at the same level as the younger students.
