Would like to go to University, but I feel it's not for me. I need some advice?
Basically, I really would like to go to Uni and earn a degree, but I'm 24 years old in August and I haven't got a stable job at the moment. Right now I'm going from 1 job to the next for money, but I want to get a stable job and be happy. I don't feel happy with my situation at the moment.
I went to college to study a BTEC National Diploma 2/3 years ago, which means If I was to go back to college again, I would have to pay for the course. But because I'm not getting a stable income, I find this would be difficult to do.
I just hate not having a career in mind. I feel like I'm going through the motions at the moment, in terms of jobs. I just don't know what I want to do to be honest. I am terrible at maths, and everything I seem to be interested in includes mathematics. I would of liked to have been a physiotherapist, but this includes scientific maths.
It's getting me down, as I have friends who are getting into new jobs or training, and I'm stuck going through the motions.
Any helpful advice? -

Not quite sure what your question is. Are you asking what you should aim at for a career? Sorry to repeat the same old line but you know that better then us. Try to be a bit more specific about what you want to find out and you'll get more responses

Re: Would like to go to University, but I feel it's not for me. I need some advice?Yeah sorry, I mean I am not sure where I want to go career wise. I like politics and sport, which are 2 way different things, but I don't know what else. I also thought about Physiotherapy, but I am terrible at maths. When I say I'm bad at maths, I mean I'M BAD!! and not good at all. But the thing is, most of the careers I am interested in require at least some maths. This is the only thing that holds me back from getting into a career. My brain is like a sieve when it comes to mathematics.(Original post by M1011)

Re: Would like to go to University, but I feel it's not for me. I need some advice? The obvious answer (elephant in the room!) would be to improve your maths then? Plenty of people don't take naturally to the subject, but at a basic level at least it is just following simple rules really. Perhaps look in to what you would need to do the Physio course (A-Level maths? GCSE maths?) and then look to get a tutor and self study it. You may well find that once you get going the subject is not nearly as hard as you think (pretty sure Maths has the highest A rate at A-Level). Do all areas of Physio require maths anyway?(Original post by TheEnigmaUK)
