Re: Unit 3 - The State and the People: Britain 1918-64 (HIS3J)I really hope that's not the case!(Original post by Super Mario 64)
Hopefully they'll work in our favour!
problem is, they might be low because examiner's are harsh markers.. I hope not though.

Re: Unit 3 - The State and the People: Britain 1918-64 (HIS3J)I've never even heard about the snoek before!(Original post by rural_boy)
The first question scared me slightly when I first opened the paper so I avoided it! Why don't you like Baldwin by the way? I wrote quite a lot about him, more than I thought I knew, I quite like him now!
Also, how, just how, did you get the snoek into Q3??
Question 1 seemed great cause there was so much that could be written. I really didn't want to do question 2, though everyone else seemed to think it was good. Seeing the grade boudaries has cheered me up! -
Re: Unit 3 - The State and the People: Britain 1918-64 (HIS3J)
i just realised i didedent really do different interpretations ..eg 'conversly, right wing historians may argue that'.. but I did say bllalla bllaal is also considered a important consideration...than explain the point...and then go back to say why it is not the most significant point..and why austerity was the more important at the end of each paragraph...
does that count? (alll the torture of revision i hope its paid off for us all ) -
Wanted to ask something about the structure of questions.
All teachers usually say intro, success, failures, success, failures then conclusion but
For the 1924-1951 economy question I did
Intro
1924-1929 fail
1929-1939 success
1929-1939 fail
1945-1951 success
1945-1951 fail
Conclusion
Would examiners pick on me for this?

Re: Unit 3 - The State and the People: Britain 1918-64 (HIS3J)If you mean would they prefer you to have put a success first then a fail, no it probably doesn't matter. I did a completely different structure to that anyway so it shouldn't make much difference. Hope this helps.(Original post by Super Mario 64)

Re: Unit 3 - The State and the People: Britain 1918-64 (HIS3J)I meant instead of going success and failure, I've chosen to go through the years in order (though linking back where necessary)(Original post by law@magiccircle)

They don't mind you going in order do they? -
Re: Unit 3 - The State and the People: Britain 1918-64 (HIS3J)I organised my answer into chronological order, so I hope that's OK! I mean, it's History, so surely they'd appreciate it being in chronological order. As you've linked it, that'll probably increase your marks. I just went through the different governments in order and said how successful each one was (or wasn't) then concluded. Good Luck anyway.(Original post by Super Mario 64)

Re: Unit 3 - The State and the People: Britain 1918-64 (HIS3J)Haha the snoek thing is a bit of an obscure fact but I didn't even think to write it in the exam!(Original post by law@magiccircle)

Question 1 scared me, but yeah question 2 was pretty good, also the grade boundaries are pretty great, it's just that they fluctuate every year depending on how everyone's done, and it seems like everyone's done well this year so they could go higher!
