Struggling to decide.
Hi
Our school gets us to start thinking about university at the end of year 12, and recently, I've become under pressure to think of what I want to do at university.
I don't want to end up starting a course but hating it because I didn't make the right decision.
I currently do chemistry, biology, psychology and Eng Lit. (Planning to drop English lit)
I started to think about medicine, but I didn't feel as if I was cut out for it as my GCSE's weren't up to scratch. Then I thought about neuroscience as it looks really interesting and I find it fascinating, but seeing as I've never really done it in an academic way, I think I may not enjoy it?
I know I want to do something science-related but really can't make a decision, can someone please give me some advice? -
Re: Struggling to decide.I'm gonna drop it at A2, I've done the exams for AS :P(Original post by Anazoth)
Personally I wouldn't go near the medical field and if you want my opinion, don't drop english lit, no one likes a quitter :P
Why not medicine? -

Concentrate on 3 subjects, and if want a fourth, take AS maths. It will be much more helpful than English Literature will ever be. -
Re: Struggling to decide.4 As and 6 Bs(Original post by poony)
It's difficult to give you advice without knowing your GCSE results.
How about Biochemistry or Biomedical Science ? It's a level down from Medicine.
I have thought about biomedical science -
Re: Struggling to decide.
You are right, 4 As & 6Bs won't get you into Medicine in UK, have you ever thought of applying to uni. within EU. Some of them teach in English. Anyway, reading medicine is not easy, it's one of the subject requires good memory and constant hard working. If you are keen, try to get all As for AS and in the meantime, try to get a job at any GP practice/hospital. Some universities do provide taster day for potential medicine student but I think you are too late for applying.
Pharmacy is another options, entry requirement is about AAB - ABB, much lower than Medicine.
