The tan would just fade in a couple of weeks anyway? Just keep your bikini on at least, its not what everyone wants to see.. especially other families with children.

Breasts are not sexual organs, they are not disgusting, they do not need to be covered up on a beach -

Re: Topless This Summer?Ah ... my mistake ... I thought that you specifically said that families with children would be offended(Original post by laurentommo)

Re: Topless This Summer? And my friends wondered why I went for a casual stroll along the beach during our holiday...

It's fine in some areas, not everywhere (Dubai as an example).
Just don't be one of these stupid bitches that then get angry when people look... -
Re: Topless This Summer? It was my mum and sister so othing they hadn't seen before and my mm's being going topless on holiday for as long as I can remember.(Original post by xDave-)
Well, for what it's worth, I don't think I'd do it if I was a girl.
I find that much more odd. I'd much rather be nude around randoms than family.
Probably the fact that it's classed as indecent exposure in many places and could be construed as a criminal offence. Personally, I don't find nudity to be offensive and it's only people sexualising it that causes people to feel repressed by it.(Original post by plimsolls)
Whats stopping you getting your fanny out as well op? -

Re: Topless This Summer?
Personally, I do go topless on the beach because I think it looks silly when you have a lovely brown body but then two massively white triangles across your boobs. I don't go topless when my Dad or my brothers are around, as I don't feel comfortable with that and I don't think they would either. Female relatives and non-relatives (with the exception of a few of my male friends) I have no problem with it though. End of the day you're on holiday, you're never going to see the other people on the beach again, so even if they do think it's a bit too risque, ignore it. You'll come home with a good all over tan you're happy with, and you'll never see those passers by on the beach again so their opinion really doesn't matter.

Re: Topless This Summer?Even if no one else did see them except her partner and herself, why does that make a difference? Most people like to look nice for their partner and if she prefers no tan lines then it would make sense to be topless. And tan lines can sometimes take ages to fade- my boyfriend still has (hilarious) sock lines from last summer!(Original post by Mexican Red Knee)
Most people will agree with me... straps are totally different to exposing the full breasts.
Who else will see the tan lines besides herself and if she has one a partner?
Does she end up having the beach to herself then?
That must be a sight for saw eyes (no offence intended because its your mother), but Jesus Christ, lol!
This is such a weird thing to be moralising, boobs are really not a huge deal at the beach. -
Re: Topless This Summer?
Having been on holiday with families for many years, I can say that every family I have been with is uncomfortable with their children being exposed to topless sunbathers to the point of moving to a different area of the poolside/beach to be away from them.
Although not every family is offended, a lot are. -

Re: Topless This Summer?
I've seen lots of people sunbathe topless... personally I wouldn't do it in front of anyone but my boyfriend.
i don't mind other people being topless but i've got to say i can't really empathise, i quite like tan lines, it reminds me of a good summer. if you're sunbathing topless, you will have people staring at you, and no matter what anyone says, most boys will think sexually about a pair of 20 year old's breasts being on full view.
so when someone comes and wants to get more closely aquainted, don't blame them, they're only human.
i also personally think boobs look nicer with a bit of support anyway! -
Re: Topless This Summer?Your approach shows a level of sense often lacking in my opinion from people in the UK (and US) about the human body. I'd expect that the place that you and your friends are visiting is a resort where there are largely groups of young people and few families about (if any) and so the argument that families are offended may not be an issue.(Original post by Bex94)

You appear to be comfortable about sunbathing topless along with at least one of your friends and should have no qualms about doing so. Recognise that some of your friends choose to keep their tops on and do not criticise or poke fun at them for doing so. Have a lovely holiday. -
Re: Topless This Summer? Thanks. As you say, we are going to a resort so I think it will mainly be people around our age and we're all good friends so I'm sure no-one would poke fun at anyone who was a bit more body conscious.(Original post by barnetlad)
