GCSE History exam tuesday 12th june :(
Hi everyone,
I'm so nervous for the paper 1 history exam on the 12th, my brain is like a sieve when it comes to remembering dates,so not looking forward to the exam esp because paper 2 was horrible, OCR were so mean.
How is everyone else revising for the exam? (mine is crime and punishment through time and the American West)
Any useful techniques for remembering things/tips for the exam?
ThanksLast edited by Jen1996; 02-06-2012 at 16:32. -
Re: GCSE History exam tuesday 12th june :(
Hey - we're on the same boat! But I'm doing medicine through time and nazi germany. I know the feeling...it feels like my brain has exceeded its maximum capacity and I can't take in anymore. Try doing something else for a bit then come back to all your notes with a pair of fresh eyes. Samlearning and Bitesize are quite good for revision, check out youtube as well - there's bound to be some revision videos for the topics you are studying.

Make a timeline, mind maps, revision cards - or whatever you think works best
Go to the AQA website and check out the past papers and mark schemes with the exemplar answers and identify what the question is asking you to do. Try out a load of questions so you can get your mind set
I'm trying to do all this but all the other exams are taking over! Good luck and Happy revising!

Ah
double exams that must be horrible, I've already done 9 exams so only have 3 left now, maths, history and textiles :/ What have you guys got left ? I finish on the 21st June.
Should have got a revision guide ages ago but bit late now :/ -
Re: GCSE History exam tuesday 12th june :(
No problem. I have 5 exams left! On the 12th I have Biology in the morning then medicine through time in the afternoon. Dreading it. Then maths the following morning and nazi germany on the 15th. My last exam is on the 20th - physics. Going to PARTAAYY after lol
-
Me too, dreading it! This following week is going to be intense revision. I have 2 history exams, a biology exam and a maths exam from the 12th to 15th(Original post by smileyelzz)
I'm doing this exam except I'm doing The USA in the 1920's and The League of Nations
I have Biology on the same day as well ;(
Have you tried getting the revision guide as it's quite useful?
they'll be over soon!

Re: GCSE History exam tuesday 12th june :(HAha same, Hitlers rise to power and Nazi Germany is just a mess, it's all over the place(Original post by EnviroProtector)
yeh, im doing germany 1918- 1945, including hitlers rise to power and treaty of versailles, league of nations etc, information overload! -
Re: GCSE History exam tuesday 12th june :(I'm doing those options too, as well as trying to revise for philosophy and maths. There's just so much information in history it's ridiculous! I could focus on both nazi Germany and medicine for an entire month and still not know everything...as it is I've left myself a week D:(Original post by priya8D)

Re: GCSE History exam tuesday 12th june :(
Urgh, I'm starting to re-evaluate how much I actually like history. I didn't think everyone would be doing such different topics :L Is everyone else's worth 35% ? I guess that is quite good, because then If I get a C or something I might still get an A maybe ? I don't know. How much does everyone write in the exams ? I know the paper is like 1 hour per section, so 2 hours, but I just can't write that much, the people next to me are always on their 8th page whilst I'm still on like my third lol.
