Favourite scene from a movie?
Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

Favourite scene from a movie?
So I was procrastinating, watching random movie clips on YouTube, and I found this extended cut of the opening scenes of Casino Royale (with a cricket match included
). For me, this was the perfect introduction for Daniel Craig playing a much darker, grittier Bond.
So TSR, what are your favourite movie scenes from films new and old?Last edited by ForensicShoe; 02-06-2012 at 10:25. -

Not sure on my favourite scene but that one is definitely brilliant!
In my opinion, the best scene of the trilogy is this;
"Get some rest Pam. You look tired" followed by that music =

Re: Favourite scene from a movie?
Wow I'm gonna look so camp posting this one compared to the others but without doubt is just my favourite scene.
(If you haven't seen the film he has supposedly just had sex with the lovely Zooey Deschannel, it's trying to simulate the experience of that happy feeling when you do sometihng like that with somebody you like.)
Or in Atonement, this scene, purely for how long it is and how apparently they got three takes at it...

Re: Favourite scene from a movie?
This scene is symbolic for me, it reminds me of when I left Islam, I didn't dare point out any of the flaws with religion, until I saw other Atheists who left Islam doing so. I didn't dare come out as an open Atheist until I realised there were a lot more ex-Muslim Atheists out there than I had previously thought.
When nobody around you speaks up, you will not stand up yourself, because you're afraid of what other people might think, but when somebody does stand up, you have the courage to stand up yourself.Last edited by Politricks; 02-06-2012 at 11:14. -
Re: Favourite scene from a movie?
King Theoden's speech at Pelennor Fields (Lord of the Rings- The Return of the King):
"Arise! Arise, Riders of Théoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day... a red day... and the sun rises! Ride now... Ride now... Ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending! Death! DEATH. DEAAAATH!"
Aragorn's speech before the Black Gates (Lord of the Rings- The Return of the King):
"Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers!
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the courage of Men fails
When we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship
But it is not this day
An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Man comes crashing down
But it is not this day!
This day we fight!
By all that you hold dear on this good earth
I bid you stand, Men of the West!" -
