What A Level subjects are the hardest?
Some people will find subjects hard that others will find easy and visa versa... I was wondering if there is an official list of subjects that are considered as hard
If there is please reply
I don't mind if a made up list is posted as well
I'm just really curious
Thanks!

Re: What A Level subjects are the hardest? This in terms of content, i find biology exam papers can sometimes be extremely pedantic.(Original post by PrinceSarah)
I think Physics, Chemistry and Maths are all considered to be the hardest. -
Why? What was wrong with what I said before?(Original post by zaliack)
I think what you mean is a list of 'traditional' A level subjects?

Re: What A Level subjects are the hardest?
In ascending order, I'd say
1) Chemistry
2) English Literature
3) Further Maths
4) Physics
5)Maybe History, maybe Biology.
I don't know really after that. It's basically the traditional A-levels. You'll find many people saying 'English is easy', but it is incredibly difficult to get top-marks in English Literature and requires an incredible amount of effort. Chemistry is just evil. -
Thanks for the list and I agree with you about Chemistry :O It's sooo hard! I find normal Maths hard lol(Original post by confusedexcited)

Re: What A Level subjects are the hardest?I don't actually do Chemistry, but most of my friends do and they constantly complain about it! I looked at the books once, confused the hell outta me! I suppose the only real list for 'hard' or 'respected' A-levels is the oxbridge blacklist, but that's hardly official!(Original post by Yolofied)

and the reason I was wondering if there was a list was because my friends said that they were told about an official list of 'hard' subjects
... I've tried to look for it but I can find it. I'll take a look at info from oxford and cambridge

Re: What A Level subjects are the hardest? It's just traditional subjects are usually listed as 'hard' without taking into account subjective feelings for the subject. For example, as I'm musically illiterate, taking music would be ten times harder than taking maths or sciences.(Original post by Yolofied)

Re: What A Level subjects are the hardest?
I've heard that chemistry is a big step up from GCSE to A level too and lots of people at my school go on about it, but if you enjoy it then that shouldn't stop you choosing it!
I do maths, physics and D&T: Product design at A2. Maths isn't so bad once you get the hang of it, especially if you do well at AS, it will make the A2 year a lot less stressful. Physics is pretty similar to GCSE but the content is more complicated (obviously). D&T is a LOT of work throughout the year as the coursework element is worth 60% each year, but this means you don't have so much pressure on the exam at the end of the year.
So yeah, from what i've heard i would say chemistry is hardest but it does depend to a certain extent on personal preferance -
Re: What A Level subjects are the hardest?Agreed. Most would say english literature was harder than geography, yet I have to puts weeks of revision in to my geography exams, whereas i don't with english lit. Each to their own I guess.(Original post by Calllu-m)
Depends what you're good at. I breeze history with very little difficulty, but put me infront of a physics paper and I have no clue. Likewise someone who breezes physics infront of a history paper will have no clue. -

Re: What A Level subjects are the hardest?
Chemistry, then physics, then further maths, then maths I think.
But that's only for me and from what I see that others struggle with :/
Some may find history and english (essay-based) subjects hard too, but I know more people that find them easy than don't.
