I'm thinking of doing only past papers of the old specification, simply because the new ones are extremely hard and my teacher said, when a new specification comes out they always make the questions really hard but in the actual exam there nothing compared to the specification papers. Also, there are no past papers, so I thought I might as well use old past papers.

    What is everyone else doing?

There's a book for the new 1MA0 specification called 'Mathematics A Linear Practice Book: Targeting A and A*' which I'm working through; trouble is there are no answers, but it allows me to revise and then practice using my skills.

In terms of grade boundaries, if the paper is anything like the specimen, I would say something like 160/200 for an A*, 145/200 for an A, 130 for a B... but to be honest I think that it's going to be easier and more like the old Edexcel Maths papers, so I'm going to work through a few of those. To get higher marks for the 5 marker questions, look at the mark scheme and see what you need to do for each mark; this is particularly useful for the QWC questions.

Have you seen the mock papers? Imo, they are much easier than the specimen papers

    It's usually 90 for a B and 124 for an A

It was very slightly harder than the past ones but not as hard as the specimen ones If I find the papers, I'll post them here although they may have my writing on them

I don't know why but I am dreading this exam so badly
I want an A* sooo badly! I just did the november 2011 1380/3H non-calc paper and it was ridicuolously hard! I hateee the questions where they ask you to prove stuff.

God, I hope the exam isnt too hard.

We need an Edexcel password! I've got a plan and may or may not return in a few hours with a PDF of the new 1MA0H mock papers... x
Did you find a password in the end?

Do you mean the questions when they ask us to prove that two triangles/shapes are congruent? If so, post the question and I will explain
