Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now?
Q: I'm doing physics, chemistry, biology and maths A levels and need AAAC to meet my medical school offer.
Background: I'm ridiculously lazy and have left it completely last minute due to a total lack of motivation. I got AAAB at AS with pretty much night before revision but it's got so much harder at A2 and I ended up with BCE in the Jan modules (biol, maths, chem) which I am now retaking. I retook some AS ones, not sure how they went but I haven't even started work for A2 ones. Is this even possible?!
P.S. I'm aware this is my fault and a really stupid thing to do, I know medicine's hard work etc so please don't tell me that! I'm not sure what the purpose of this thread is, guess I'm just looking for motivation.
EDIT: Getting negged for asking for advice, whyyy?Last edited by joker12345; 03-06-2012 at 22:45. -
Re: Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now?I know, I'm trying but it just seems like a bit of a hopeless situation now :/(Original post by firebolt)
I think you better start revising rather than being on TSR, just get as much done as you can and what will be will be -
Re: Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now?And unless you get rid of that attitude it will be a hopeless situation. I've got 3 weeks left for MFP4 which is my only exam so i'm alright having started 1 week ago but you'll run it close if you start....NOW!!! i said start!(Original post by joker12345)

I might hire you as my person motivator btw -
Re: Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now?I started a few months back, lost track and picked myself back up around 2 weeks ago. After calculating what marks I need per exam (A*A*A*AAABBB) my mind is screaming for me to continue studying whilst my soul has just died and given up completely. I'm already looking into how the clearing process works(Original post by Rainingshame)
I'd be terrible i have re-motivate myself every 20 minutes or so. You started yet?!?!?!

Re: Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now?I look at it like this - if I actually manage to get the grades then I calculated it right and yes, deserved my offer. If I don't get them then no, but it doesn't matter since I won't get in anyway.(Original post by beanstalkgirl_24)
TBH, do you deserve a medical school offer if you've left it so late to revise? It doesn't really show commitment and motivation does it? -
Re: Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now? This is exactly how I feel. Considering options for when you fail is such an awful way to procrastinate!(Original post by YB101)

Good advice and thanks for the motivation - definitely going to try and take it!(Original post by M4LLY)
Yes, but you'd better knuckle down my friend. RIGHT NOW!!! -
Re: Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now?Err...I would say that you are very undeserving as surely medicine requires long term dedication. If you can't be bothered to revise for 2 months, how are you going to fare at medical school (and post medical school if you actually graduate) for 5-6 years??(Original post by joker12345)

Medicine offers are hard to come by at the best of times, especially when some people obviously feel complacent about meeting their offers and then don't bother. ie you. -
Re: Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now?Obviously I had GCSE/AS/A2 predicictions, work experience, PS, reference and interview skills that got me the offer, so yes, I deserve it. This amount of work was enough for me in the past, but things have clearly got harder and that makes it hard to know how much work is enough to meet the grades. I don't see the point of you posting this on my thread though - it's totally unrealted to whether it's possible to achieve the grades I need which is what I asked!(Original post by beanstalkgirl_24)

Re: Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now?
Just think about all the hard work you've put in to get the medicine offer (not just the academic side) and think about what you would feel like come results day, both if you meet the offer and if you don't. I think if you do want to succeed, which I'm sure you do, this would alone be enough motivation

What are your GCSE results, and how much revision did you do?(Original post by joker12345)

Re: Is it possible to get AAAC at A2 starting revision now?
if you understand everything in all of your subjects then it's possible to
revise for each exam in about three days to be honest
it obviously depends on how quickly you learn, but if you're motivated you can do it
set yourself achievable goals everyday and work as hard as you can
don't stress yourself out too much, remember to take breaks too
you don't want to be looking back wondering why you didn't listen to all those people telling you to get rid of distractions (including tsr) and start revising
it's better to start now then never -
