Films that taught you a lesson.

Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

This is England - how a joke/bit of fun can escalate into something very severe. I love how the whole tone of the film changes from a very jovial, banterous mood into something very sombre, as can real life banter...

Apocalypse Now taught me to thank my lucky stars I wasn't a young, male American citizen old enough to be drafted into the military during the '70s.

Not at all. I realised that in order to find love I would have to sparkle like Mr. Cullen, so I did and ended up falling in love

Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, and I Saw the Devil taught me a lot about the effects of vengeance.

They also taught me to never, ever, f*ck with Koreans.
I have a couple of recommendations for you if you enjoy Korean cinema. Repped.

The Pursuit of Happyness. Doesnt really teach a definitive lesson, but its incredibly inspiring (well I thought so), so I felt I should mention it.
^... well it taught me how to spell happiness.

    Plus you spelt it wrong..
