It probably won't be as good as the book though

Read this book a few years ago, it's definitely one of my favourite YA books.

"Death" was an insightful, and interesting narrator.

I remember liking the ending but I didn't think the book was anything special.

I absolutely loved it, and it's definitely one of my favourite books. I was introduced to it by a Geography teacher in year 10, and whilst it took me a little bit of time to get into it, I enjoyed the writing style and thought that the perspective from which it was written from was really engaging. The ending made my cry a lot though, and not many books make me cry...

I actually didn't finish it because I couldn't get through the writing style. I liked the idea of Death as a character, but the way it was written really put me off. I am tempted to try reading it again as there are so many good reviews on here though, and I hear the ending is supposed to be really good.

The ending is fantastic! I'd definitely give it another a go, although I agree that, at least initially, the writing style can be a bit off-putting.

I don't know. The Kite Runner film cut out some of the important parts of the story like Sohrab's (Hassan's son) suicide attempt though its apparently rated a 12 so I can see why they didn't include it. The film didn't really have the same poignant effect as the book did in my opinion.

I think I will, it's been a year since I've read it so it's most likely I'll have changed perceptions of the style. Looking forward to it

    I loved The Book Thief!

I actually really liked Ilsa Hermann and her library and her relationship with Liesel. I just thought the entire story was very interesting and all the little details made it a million times better than any ordinary book.

Yeah, the little details like occasional anecdotes explaining the characters were a nice touch
