I hate sixth form, will I hate uni too?
Most people who enjoy uni also liked sixth form, or at least said it was ok.
Did anyone here hate sixth form but like uni?

I hated school in general. I hated being there, I hated learning, I hated the people...

    I've enjoyed university, though. :dontknow:

Depends on what you hated about sixth form. If you hated other humans or being taught stuff, you probably won't enjoy uni. Otherwise, they're fairly different.

I didn't enjoy school itself much. I prefer uni by far. Most people do.

    Apples and oranges.

Sixth form is in essence, a continuation of high school, so if you hated high school the chances are you'll hate sixth form. Uni is a completely different experience.

I loathed Sixth Form. I didn't hate what I was learning though - I love learning, always have. But I didn't like my school or the way it was run, or in fact many of my contemporaries.

Uni, on the other hand, was much better. I enjoyed the subject matter and I respected and liked my university.

I didn't find either 'easy' or enjoyable 100% of the time, but I wasn't there to enjoy myself so I just focused on the work - I got where I wanted to be eventually.

HAHAHA oh dear lord. That's probably an indication of ill health.

I loved sixth form mostly, but the experience is not the same as uni at all. The work is different, the way classes are arranged is different, and certainly the way that you live is something you'll have most likely never done before. I loved it. What don't you like about sixth form? Because I found the academic part of it to be very tedious towards the end, all about passing exams and getting right answers etc, but uni is a bit more varied than that.

I dislike a large proportion of the humans that I know - am I going to be OK?!

I know loads of people who hated sixth form but loved uni. I adored sixth form, uni wasn't terrible but I much preferred sixth form. Most of my sixth form friends agree.

It's a completely different kettle of fish. I know people that have loved sixth form and hated uni, some who hated sixth form and loved uni, and some who have loved both.

I'd say that a higher proportion of people enjoy uni than enjoy sixth form.

It's a different experience completely, with different people. So it's entirely possible to hate sixth form and like university.

This is how I feel! I love learning but I'm so miserable at school!
    Thank you

Hated 6th form, uni was epic. The two really aren't at all comparable.

it'll be completely different, as long as you choose a subject that really interests you you won't feel like you're being forced to learn something that doesn't matter. i dont think i need to say that it's a lot more independent than school.

I'm having a similar experience. There's nothing wrong with university. It is fun and interesting. But I have found that my days at sixth form were on the whole great. The people, the teachers, all of it.

I despised my last two years at school. The school itself was fantastic, my teachers were brilliant but I didn't get on with very many 90%+ of my year and had many mental issues with the place.

I love university. I love the freedom, the academic liberty to not be constrained to box ticking and the ability to make a lot more of myself.

    Just my copper coins.

Might be worth a trip to the GPs to be safe?
