    Re-applying to a different uni?
Hi, my intentions are to go uni next year and amidst that, to re-apply to another university, can i do that? Will i be able to do that without telling the uni i'll be going too? Will i be able to apply via ucas without telling them that i'm at a current uni? If i get a place then i'll drop out, if not, i'll stay at uni.

You might be thinking why i'm not taking a gap year instead, well there's two reasons. Firstly, i might not get in to the unis i'm re-applying to, but more crucially, i want to move out from home since i can't bear living here for another year.

You don't have to tell your current uni, although you do need to think about your reference - obviously if you need your uni tutor to be your referee you need to tell them.

You need to list all previous education, which includes your current uni, in the education section. It's up to you whether you then talk about uni in your PS or not.

Thanks for the reply, can i get my previous form tutor at college to be my referee? Will that suffice? What if i did not list my current university on my ucas form? Will anything happen?

Discuss it with your previous form tutor but they should agree - as long as you haven't taken multiple gap years so college was ages ago.

You sign a declaration to say your UCAS form is true and you haven't omitted stuff. So when they find out - which they will - your offers are invalid and can be removed.

    How will they find out?

Well, an obvious one would be you'd have nothing to say about your gap year. But I'm not going to post things on here in case it gives you ideas on how to get round things and I don't help cheaters. But even so, there are other ways you can't get round, so they will know.

Your new student finance application will ask you whether you have been to university before; you'll have to say yes to secure your funding, which your new university will see.

What do you think will happen if you list your current university

People move universities all the time

Are you sure you're going about this the right way? Surely there are cheaper ways to waste a year than paying £9000 plus living costs at a uni/course you don't want? Can't you move out and get a job or something instead?
