Do you ever get light headed......?
I don't know whats wrong with me but I find I sometimes get light headed for no reason. I mean today, I was walking in town, just got light headed when I was walking for no reason. Only had a bowl of cereal and banana an hour before so surely it isnt to do with not eating as I generally eat quite a lot. I often get it when Im playing tennis, even if Im not tired or my heart will suddenly start beating fast, like heart palpitations. I went to the doc about the palpitations and I had a blood test and heart monitor fitted just to see if there were any problems, however, results were fine.
I understand most people get light headed when they stand up really quickly but do you ever get this randomly? -
Re: Do you ever get light headed......?really? cheers(Original post by subjectman10)
I think you lack iron in your blood- eat spinach, it'll help -
Re: Do you ever get light headed......?Iron supplement tablets are probably what you need, go to your doctor get it checked out then if that is the case you could get a prescription.(Original post by hiding12)
really? cheers -
Re: Do you ever get light headed......?hate marmite, lol. But poor circulation? I have started to lose her, i.e receding a bit(Original post by redtortoise)
B vitamins (marmite) could help as well it could be poor circulation -
Re: Do you ever get light headed......?
I had a palpitation problem, and it came back fine too. I also get light-headed.
However, it really improved when I started eating the right kinds of foods (amount is irrelevant), and got fitter. I'd say there are two possibilities;
1. You don't eat as healthily as you say / not enough nutrients (vegetables) / you're not that fit.
2. You have a medical problem that was overlooked.
I suspect the former, but if you have a good balanced diet and do a lot of exercise then it's probably worth going back to your GP. Hope it improves

Do you do a lot of excersice, weights etc? i have been told that generally fit people can sometimes exeprince mild hypotension ( fall in blood pressure) which can cause light headedness. then they suggest take a little more salt and water in diet -
Re: Do you ever get light headed......?
You maybe stressed out, I never got light headed.
Until I had a 9-5 job and was studying for my A-levels at the same time. It was a nightmare, I nearly passed out behind the wheel. Mine was mainly coz I didnt have time to eat.
Went to old DRS and now im much better. Still light headed but much better than before

Re: Do you ever get light headed......?
DON'T JUST TAKE IRON SUPPLEMENTS. You could overdose very easily and taking them when you don't need them is worse than not taking them and needing them.
Just go the doctors ask them to check your blood pressure because low blood pressure causes head rushes and dizziness. Also maybe ask for a blood test.
If it happens again just eat something a bit sugary and stop and sit for a few minutes.
You'll probably be fine. -
Re: Do you ever get light headed......?Also, if you've recently had a growth spurt, it is common to get light-headedness. So, after a while you should be fine if this is the case?(Original post by hiding12)

Re: Do you ever get light headed......?
When I stand up, I sometimes get so light headed that my eyes go completely black and I can't see a thing. I also get it when I'm laying down and it feels like I'm moving when I'm not. I was anaemic and had iron tablets, but I can't really remember if that helped it.

Re: Do you ever get light headed......?
Yeah I get this...quite a lot recently! Hoping its only to do with exam stress! Hate doctors! But I start to black out, feel hot and sweaty and my mom said that I go really pale as well! She wants me to check it out because I also get pains in my kidney area? It's weird...makes me feel like im going to pass out!
