    Choosing Firm and Insurance Choices
    Hi,
I'm going to be studying Law this year at University and I have no idea currently of what I want to make as my insurance choice. I mean, I'm pretty sure my firm is going to be De Montfort, but I'm stuck in between Nottingham Trent or Coventry. I wouldn't find it particularly difficult to decide, but I have to commute to all of these Uni's from Leicester which is the problem. I wanted to know if anyone does Law/Commutes (or intends to commute this year) to these uni's, and also how they find it.
Anything you can tell me would be reaaallly helpful! x

Just checking that you know that you only choose firm and insurance once you've had offers back from everywhere. This means that you won't need to do anything for nearly a year, which give you plenty of time to go and see them for yourself.

Weigh up the pros and cons for each and then decide which is you second favourite... and insurance should really be an offer which you feel is more achievable, however you can always gamble and go for a uni you like second best with almost as high grades and hope you still achieve the marks.

Trent - as it has a good rep for law.

Re: Choosing Firm and Insurance Choices
I live in Leicester and I've put Leicester University for my first choice, but I need AAA to get in which is highly unlikely and I've put Coventry University as my insurance offer and I'm very likely to get the BBB I need to get into there! I'm also doing Law, the straight LLB Law!
It takes about 40minutes to an hour to get to Coventry from my house (I live close to Fosse Park) and costs around £10 in petrol to get there and back in my 1.2 litre clio - plus parking which is around £5.
There is also a train there everyday but that takes around an hour and also is a 10 minute walk from the train station to the University consisting of many underpasses. There is also the option of the coach from St. Margaret's bus station in town which is around £8 return (plus whatever your bus fair is to get into town).
Alternatively find someone to car share with, a few of my friends are planning to go to Coventry to study other things but if our timetables are similar we are planning on travelling together some days! Cuts down the cost when your dividing petrol and parking between more than one person and it's also nice to have some company!
Who knows, we may end up becoming friends and car sharing next year if you choose to go Coventry!
